ez - thanks for the insight!
ryan - no! those clips attaching the plastic air intake piece to the frame broke when i took everything apart to remove the little brass restrictor pill in the boost line. you think that's the culprit of my "squelch" sound (which sounds like water being sprayed at high velocity)? I guess it's worth a try and easy to remedy!

Those clips have caused many problems. Mainly the snorkle closing itself off against the hood at higher RPM. I would not do anymore tuning untile you have the snorkle secured. Fix it and start over. I'm almost positive thats whats causing you squelch sound.
Ya, that problem kicked my *** for a few weeks. Now it's zipped tied down WITH the clips.
