Firmware Update

Shiv,
How can we identify if we have "some of the newest Xede" so we can determine if our units are capable of firmware upgrades without having to return them?
Additionally, can you do firmware upgrades during dyno days for the Xedes that cannot be done by the user?
thanks,

Shiv, I just got my xede hooked up correctly and I get this P0243 error everyday. Do you think I could of got a old xede that is giving this error?

So our current maps wont work if we have our Exede's firmware updated? Im still runing the old, old Xede (P0243 CEL for boost ground) and running my custom V1.2 maps. Ive been wanting to send my Xede in for an upgrade, but dont want to start my tooning over from scratch. Am I off?

I do when I go from boost to vac, and vac to boost. But It did this before when it was hooked up to the wrong wire as well.

No. It's most likely because your wiring is still wrong. Do you hear the relay on the board ever tick?

To be honest I never listen to it on start up but will. I am going to change all the hoses out next week with some old one's off a different evo. Is there anyway you think it could be the xede dumping boost at high RPMS? One last thing is I will rent a dyno and see where the damn leaking sound is coming from if I have too.

Do you hear a series of clicks upon start-up of the engine? This is the diagnostic test that the factory ECU does to make sure that there is a solenoid there. If a) the correct wire is being fed into the relay input in the XEDE harness and b) the relay is clicking, then there is absolutely no reason to through the boost control circuit code. The overboost code, on the other hand, is possible given that you have a big boost leak somewhere in your system. This will yeild odd MAF/RPM combinations that can easily trigger a fuel cut.

The second question I asked was if you can do firmware upgrades when you are doing Dyno Days. Or is this hardware dependent also?
thanks
