What boost control items have failed on your EVO?

I am having a boost control issue with my car & the dealer hasnt solved it yet & im taking it in again! The dealer has only replaced the boost solenoid. Dealer said BOV was ok. No audible boost leak, just drops from 1.3, to 1.0 then up to 1.2 ish?

If I can get some real life experienced of faulty items that I can suggest to the dealer would be a help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ther is a questionable FBC tech release on the FBC. Im glad they replaced it. Try to see if the worm clip on the passengers side of the FMIC is loose or stripped. Also do you have the factory airdam clipped down?

Factory boost controller try and to reset your ecu by pulling the negative battery wire and pressing the break. Can you list your mods?

What would be the effect of the airdam not clipped down? I assume you're referring to the little plastic piece under the car with the plastic rivets that pop off when you scrape the ground?

NO, on the air box the part that rams cold air into the box, the front of it has 2 clips on it and make sure there are in and hold it down. If they are missing you may be losing power and boost because this part will lift up and suck on the hood.

My car is bone stock. How is the FBC different than the boost solenoid valve? Where is the fbc located?

I would think that the ecu would control the solenoid valve based on what the ecu is perceiving for a given boost, which would then control the boost. Maybe the boost sensor is faulty or giving a jumpy signal causing the ecu to reduce the solenoid duty?

Correct as well as seemingly tight but stripped worm clips- Dont overlook that!
