Brett was right. The 100 octane pump at the 76 at Almaden & Foxworthy is no more.

My Evo and I are in mourning, but I have not given up. I will find another deale... I mean source.

So the VP Racing Fuel guy (thanks for the referral Shiv) is now saying that the 76 station near me is going to start carrying VP pretty soon ... If that's true, the question is whether it will be 100 or 103 octane. I'm a little skeptical it will even wind up at the 76 pump, but he's in Hollister so worse comes to worse that's not too far (not too close either though).

IN THE MEANTIME, the station got one more load (vial?) of 100oct in. They verified it is TRICK racing fuel (vs. 76 Competition) as the pump stickers indicate. Apparently the station is fighting with 76 to keep the right to sell the TRICK stuff. Here's hoping they win that fight or get the VP 103 or otherwise allow me to keep my disgusting habit.

Either way, time to light up!

I've no idea where you are... Which 76 station would that be? Thanks.

Oh, okay. Wasn't sure if you meant the same 76 station. That's where I was getting my 100 as well.

I've heard Gruppe-S and Frey Racing (both in Fremont) both carry 100-octane as well. Presumably in 5-gallon cans.

It sure is nice being able to buy race fuel at nearly 3 gas stations around here. There is even a gas station out in Sycamore that sells 110 I believe, the 103 usually goes for 3.79 a gallon. Pretty cheap for a tank of good times
