I just got my xede today, I installed it following the instructions on the Vishnu website. Once I was done my car would not start. So I unpluged it, and my car started and ran fine. Does any one have any idea what the problem could be? I double checked all the conections, maybe there was some thing I missed during the install?
Any advice would be helpfull!

 

Did you ground it? Also the connector needs to click into the ecu sometimes its hard.

 

Yes it is grounded. I used the bolt recomended in the instructions. I also tried unpluging everything and pluging it back in a few times.

 

Does the xede light light up?

 

made sure you hooked up the battery... ..not flame or anythign.. but i have made the mistake with not hooking up the battery.

 

The xede would flash red and, when I attempted to start the car it would turn green for second, then go back to red. I also tried holding the wires together for the secondary map, the only difference was that instead of the light turning green for a second it would turn orange.
There were also clicking noises coming from the xede.
I hope this is something simple, i dont want to have to wait for another xede.

 

Is there a map loaded into the XEDE?

I thought it the xede was supposed to come with a map preloaded.
I tried to see what was loaded into it today, but the laptop i used would not load xmap software. I am going to try a someone elses laptop in the morning.

 

Hi,
We only preload maps if requested. Otherwise they come with either a blank map or no map. Let me know when you have communication with a laptop and we'll see what is going on.

Yep.. tested it on Friday. But I need your daytime number so we can call you. You only gave your home number. Just PM it to me.

PS. Your XEDE tested fine in both the EVOs I tested it out on. I suspect it you may have a communication problem with your laptop. Regardless, I loaded up the appropriate map and it should be ready to go. Let me know if the problem is exists on your end.

Got xede back yesterday. Everything is working great! The car pulls really hard up top. Thanks to Shiv for taking care of me so quickly. I look forward to doing business with Vishnu in the future.
