Mild Problem with XEDE

Hey Fellas,

Quick question for anyone. First I have the Vishnu Stage 1. Okay, here we go. Every 10 starts or so It seems that my boost is way low. Most of the time I hit my normal 1.6-1.7 bar and then taper off. Every once in a while, when I start the car and go for a run(of courswe I let the car warm up) the car will only boost to .8-1.0 bar and hold steady. To fix all I have to do is turn off the key, wait a minute and boom back to normal.( Somethime I have to turn the key off and start the car numerous time for the XEDE to go back to normal) Even when the car is boosting low, the green XEDE light is steady green. Now this only happens once or twice a week but I am trying to find out if it a defective XEDE of just a loose wore. Any suggestions?

P.S. Also when I get the low boost problem the XEDE doesn't do that clicking sound but the light is green.

Happens very rarely to me. I believe the firmware fixes it. Only happened like 2 times

That's odd. I've never had that occur.

Weird

It is very weird. I almost never happens when I start it for the first time in the morning. Mostly happens when the car is warm. I have also notice that when you start the car and leave right away it also happens more often then when I let the car sit for a few seconds even when the car is warm.

That sounds odd. There should be no reason that it should do that. Have you checked the ground to make sure that the crimp on ground terminal is crimped on to wire and not insulation?

Yes, this also happened once to me as well fairly recently. Turning the car off and back on did seem to fix it, though.

I don't think so. I meant the version of the xede hardware it came with. I think it's an open loop/ close loop error. When open loop the ecu wants the car to warm up so you can't boost and for some reason it gets stuck? I get this problem more often when it's below freezing numberous times. And now it seems to be ok again. I'm sure shiv will have a better idea of things.

Hmm - I haven't seen this issue and have an early harness and XEDE from October 2003. I've updated maps a few times and regularly drove in cold (below 0 F) weather over the winter.

No it's not to do with the cold...it has happened to me about once every two months...the ecu seems to send out an initialization signal on start up, you can tell this because the relay on the harness will click for a moment, when this pass through 10psi situation occurs the relay does not click on start up...

Thanks for the valuable info. It is annoying whn you car does less than 1 bar. I'll make sure it clicks the next time
