Which VTI BOV do you guys recommend?

 

One that doesn't compressor surge!

Seriously though, I talked to Shiv about this awhile back and had the same question.
David likes the 1G DSM DV, and I think that's a pretty good call.

A great person to ask is Silver Surfer, as he's done a lot of research on the subject.

 

I tool the Forge DV out as an option after reading a disturbing thread in the Evo/ETD forum. I'm not sure that's the cause, but its scary nonetheless.

If your stock one isn't leaking, I say leave it in there.

 

I have heard good things about the 1G BOV as well as the Tomei BOV which is harder to find.

 

How about the HKS SSQ? It seems to be very popular among many turbo car ppl.......

 

Did you guys hear the MR will have a Metal BOV from the factory. I guess that's what I will be running.

 

Yeah, saw that in a recent mag I read at Gruppe-S. Wonder how much we'll be able to get one for though.

 

I thought that the stock one is fine. Why would anyone want to change it if the stock one can hold boost like its supposed to? The HKS bov from my experience does cause compressor surge on the Evo.

 

I run the 1G and haven't had any leaks yet. It's a pretty nice valve, all metal, good spring tension, etc.

But then again, you don't really gain anything from it, so if your stock one is fine, leave it alone.
