Thanks everyone for the your input. Personally, I drive the Evo everyday so smooth idle is very nice to have. But for the tracks, it's another story right?

I think he means that if it was a trackday car and not his daily driver, he'd gladly sacrifice a little bit of idle quality for the power of the cams.

With regard to the Jun 264's, they do have a shorter duration than the HKS 272's, but the lift is higher, necessitating a valve spring/guid upgrade at the very minimum, with a mild port/polish being optimal.
So since the JUN's have more lift that's why their power delivery is more sudden than the HKS 272's?
I did know that springs and retainers had to be changed with JUN cams...but I've also heard that they should be upgraded with any aftermarket cam.
The JUN 264's seem to be almost a race cam...maybe I'm better off to stick with the HKS 264/272 combo since the Evo's my DD. I just heard great things about the JUN 264s...ultimately, I'm just looking for more top AND mid-range power...I don't want to loose mid-range for top end no matter how great the increase.
Thanks for your input! Sorry to pull this thread in a different direction!

FWIW, we should have our own prototype camshafts in within the next 4-5 weeks. They will go in our shop cars right way and be tested for a couple of weeks before they go for sale. They will come with a new spring/retainer kit since they are going to be a bit more aggressive than the HKS cams.

That's a lot earlier than I thought! Who is manufacutring these cams?
I'd also like to know who's manufacturing these cams...I love Vishnu stuff...but modding something in your engine that could potentially lead to serious stuff going wrong-you kinda want to go with an established brand.
Again, no offense to Vishnu...these guys know what they're doing!
Tell us more Shiv!

So can we rev it to 8200-8300 with this installed you thing? What is needed to bump up the redline without blowing up
