This is more detail on what happened to Derek ****'s Evo (as told by the Hot Chip Racing group:

Dave headed out with our run group so Steve and I went to the back of the paddock to take pictures. After about fifteen minutes, we see the red flag waving and the emergency crews rolling at high speed onto the track. All the cars come to a stop and we hop a ride to the other end of the track so we can try and see what's going on. Nothing is in view so we head over the bridge and hoof it up the hill for view of the back section of the track. From on top of the hill we can see the carnage. To protect those involved, no names or specific car information will be posted at this time. One driver was showing his passenger (and co-driver) the line and got loose in the kink after turn five. He tried to save it (which might not have made any difference in the outcome) and then went off the track into the mud. The car hit a ditch and the nose dug in. The car flipped end for end three or four times, coming to rest on it's wheels. The car had stock seats and belts. The driver was unhurt and the passenger had some back pain and was taken to the hospital. He later came back and was okay as well. I expect they'll both be sore for a few days. The car was a total loss. The front and rear were smashed and the engine suffered serious damage. The suspension and wheels also suffered significant damage. The air bags did not fire. The passenger compartment was in excellent condition with no penetration. Very impressive. An accident like this shows how wrong things can go, even at a track with tons of run off room like Thunderhill. There is no way to know what might have happened if the driver had not tried to save it and had just put both feet in and steered straight. He probably would have been traveling slower when and if he exited the track. Still, it could of ended up as a roll instead of a flip, there is just no way to say. Still, it's worth remembering that trying to save the car if often the wrong course of action. http://www.hotchip.com/otc2004/2004-4.htm

Here is the very brief post of what happened to Robi's Evo (from the NSX team's daily diary:

Robbie's Evo loses the motor. Out of six Evos that are entered, one is left standing. A stockish Evo. Robbie and Co are trying to find a motor somewhere, install it tonight, and then drive back to Buttonwillow for the final day.

Are you on freaking crack? Where did you ever ask how the Vishnu car was doing? Do you even recall what you typed, or is your short term memory retention completely gone? Let's look at what you've said in this thread already...

If that use of the rolleyes smilie isn't sarcasm and trolling, I don't know what is. BTW, is something wrong with your caps lock button? You keep capitalizing AL and DYNOFLASH (when you spell it right).

Oh yeah, that's really asking how the Vishnu car is doing. You obviously came in the Vishnu forum to swing off Al's nuts and to troll (stupidly, because the Dynoflash cars were slower). So now you're a crappy troll and a bad liar. Get some of that sleep, hopefully it will restore your ability to process coherent thought.

Edit: PS- 12.67@108.9 Blue by nooooooooobody! Get outta here with that weak shat.

Did you ever go to school? Your spelling sucks and your grammar is horrible. 'I' should be capitalized and you failed to do so more than once. You use excessive periods as well; one is enough. The 'v' in Vishnu should be capitalized because it is the name of a place. Good job on that one. In the statement 'ohh godd,' there should be only one 'h' in oh and one 'd' in god. 'Hows' is not a word, I believe the word you are looking for is "How's" which is another way of saying "How is" just in case you didn't already know that. Judging by posts you have made and the note you wrote with your Xede(That's right there is no 'E' at the beginning of Xede) you don't know much about anything at all. There is no need to use two question marks at the end of a sentence either. Also, you forgot the 'Be' at the beginning of 'because'. Oh and one more thing, you failed to explain how we are funny. I just schooled you.

We ran a set of Cusco coilovers for OTC. We're going with something a bit more aggressive for One Lap (Ohlins). Going back to the stock front sway bar. We were running an upgraded front bar but picked up 2 seconds a lap at T-hill with it disconnected

Still some work to do to make it a very good handling car. But we're working on it....

Where you using the Zero2Rs?

Are you going to use the Ohlins Street/road track setup (without remote reservoirs)? or something else?

yep, they were Zero2R coilovers. They worked as they should... just not well matched to our set-up. The front and rear diff, however, behaved wonderfully. The launch Paul could get out of the corners was a sight to see

Andrew-- Yes, we're installing Ohlins on the car tomorrow. We don't have any time to play around with different spring combos so we're winging it as best as we can. Hopefully, it will be a step in the right direction

Cheers,
shiv

Shiv sorry to hear you blew up, good luck with one lap results.

As for every one else you cant compare cars in different classes it makes no sense thats great that Robi won and that Shiv was going faster but since they were running under different rule sets you cant compare the 2. Its not much different (only in degree) than saying my stage 2 on hoosier slicks is faster than your stage 1+ on falken azenies. No **** its supposed to be, how much faster is up to debate.

The car didn't blow up, the clutch failed.
