I'm the first back-up on the list and I appreciate it very much that Brian tried contacting me, however, when I answered I dropped my phone and shattered it into pieces I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend this dyno session so if it hasn't been done already, you may contact EVOFREAK. Sorry for any inconvenience but again, thank you Vishnu crew for trying to get ahold of me!

I have a quick question --

Does anybody know the approximate times we should be showing up?

Here's the latest! I talked with Brian today, and I should be seeing the final list today or tomorrow. I'll post an approximate schedule once I have the revised list.

At this point things look to be starting about 8:00 AM and you can figure roughly an hour per car. Some cars will take longer, some car alot less time - each car is different; that's why we're here.

If you're not there when we are ready for you we'll just move to the next car. Bumped cars will be fit back in when we can manage it. I'd suggest showing up a good 30 to 45 minutes early if you can manage it.

Hi guys,
I'm all booked and ready to leave tomorrow night. Should be arriving in Chicago (via red-eye) early Saturday morning (5:15am to be exact!) I'll have all my gear. I'll bring a couple extra XEDEs with me anyone is interested in purchases on. I'll also be available to do baseline reflashes (either XFlashes or Cannonballs) in the parking lot between scheduled cars. I won't be able to accept credit cards, of course. So cash is preferable.

Also, just in case some don't know, our 04 reflash (either XFlash or Cannonball) isn't available yet. Still about 3-4 weeks out. It's kinda late to make sure, but I don't think any 04s are scheduled for reflashing this weekend. No such problem with XEDE compatibility however.

Please let me now if there is anything else that I need to bring. I'm leaving for me flight tomorrow night

Regards,
shiv, using Dave's account

I just had cam gears installed. Will you be able to adjust them on the dyno to see which setting is best for my particular car? I'm actually willing to sacrifice a bit up top for more mid range and better idle.

Time constraints being what they are, I don't think that we'll be able to make cam timing changes on the dyno. I'll do my best on whatever cam timing you provide but our recommendations still stand. Same goes with EVOs with aftermarket intakes.

The usual setting on adjustable cam gears when using stock cams is -5/-5, probably wanna start with that...

A few pictures....

Sorry for the phone camera shots, but I'm sure there are other pictures.

We were treated to the sounds and a close look at a Carrara GT! Sticker is $450,000 if anyone was wondering....

That GT sounded awesome. The sound files I've heard of it didn't do it justice

Also...

In general I'm not uploading Evo pictures as I'm not sure people want their pictures / cars posted on this web site. The only picture I posted was censored such that everyone can get an idea of the facility such as it is....

My head still hurts from the CO floating around the shop. 78ppm on the meter

Yeah when I first heard them fire up the GT, I thought they were pulling out a motorcycle ... then when I saw it drive by, I was like daaayyyyuuummmm!!!!

I've also got some pics ... will post them a little later. My drive home was fantastic ...stage 1+ rocks!!!! Hmmm, I think I feel like having today's special ... smoked mustang. (best decal ever)

Finally my Evo drives the way it should have driven off the dealer lot (IMNSHO). It was great meeting everyone. Thanks and kudos go to erioshi for setting this up, freedom for getting me a correct fitting for my Omori gauges, and of course Shiv for coming out (and tuning while catching naps in between cars ).

Special thanks to Silver Surfer, whose posts and discussions have helped me make informed decisions that I have not regretted.

Post Dyno Charts

Ok guys, here we go.

The good news is that I was able to get a copy of everyone's dyno charts on a floppy disk... the bad news is that a couple of the files ended up being corrupted, so I was left with ~80% of the runs. If you are interested in getting an electronic copy of your dyno charts, please send me a PM (along with your name) and I will send them to you in a zip file. You can use the DynoJet Viewer software to look at them. The viewer can be found at:

http://www.dynojet.com/downloads.shtml

OR

http://www.apexmodified.ca/dyno/dynojetviewer.zip

It's not the most intuitive software to use, but it is nice to be able to look at and compare your dyno charts. I've posted my chart below, both in uncorrected and SAE corrected format. Oh yeah, I was running 93 Octane...
