Is the Xede idiot proof?

I am looking into the sub zero kit from Vishnu for my car. I have read a lot of the posts in this forum and here is my question. I am decent with computers, but not too good with do it yourself stuff on cars. Is there a way that I can screw up and kill my car by loading a bad map or deleting something important? Is the system pretty user friendly? And with the reflash, can my car still be driven daily?

The XMAP program is pretty easy to follow, like most simple windows based programs. Unless you actually go in to the maps and start changing values yourself I would say its next to impossible to screw anything up. Its really the same concept as burning songs onto a CD.

Download the map you want from the site, open it up with the XMAP program, then burn it onto the XEDE unit. It pretty much walks you throgh it step by step. The instructions on their site are pretty helpful as well. The only thing that confused me a bit was the instructions where from XUPDATE which is the outdated loading program. The new software is called XMAP, which is the one you would need to download. There very similar though and you should be able to figure it out no problem.

Yep, That would be my new(ish) xede. Had a total working life of 1 day and 18hrs on on it acording to the describtion box when I installed it. Works great for me and I've been called worse than an "idiot".

Joking aside, I know there is some bad blood between Shiv and the person I bought it from, but Im keeping neutral in all that.

Never heard Al call anyone an idiot. Oooops, what should we expect from Shiv. Oh yea, and because Al knows how to treat customers, answer his phone calls, return messages, not lie when he promises money back. etc etc etc. Go to Al and get a reflash, your not satisfied, get it flashed back for not a cent. Order your Xecedfexexd, not be happy, and listen to Shiv make excuses aboutnot using it right and not give you your money back. Hmmm, no wonder Al has 10x the customers and actually has a comp flash that ranks #1 by EVO owners in the country!!! Sigh..... Shiv and his 3 loyals will learn someday when Shiv leanrs to treat ALL his customers fair. And again, Ive never seen Al argue/rip on any of his customers. Maybe cause ALL have been happy with his product......

grett04, when I got my stage zero I just told the guys at Vishnu to load up a 91 octane and 93 octane stage sub-zero on my Exede. I got it installed it in less than thirty minutes and I was done and loving it. I am now at stage 1 and have had to load maps for my stage zero+ and my current stage 1 with no problems. You can go with Al to get a dynoflash, however, you will be reflashed for one octane setting. I like the exede because I can run a base map for 91 octane and one for race gas when I want to go to the track and really push my Evo. Also, if you can use your computer to post in these forums, you should not have problems loading up maps...

My 2cents, Gnulooks
