Angry Gee thanks VISHNU

I'm making so much power my clutch is slipping in 5th now I hope your happy. And I'm blaming it on the new guy DAVE@VISHNU.

Ok so what clutch do you guys like. Mark at TT suggests the ACT and leaning towards the Exedy twin disc.

Any inputs?

The ACT has higher clamping force than stock clutch while exedy twin disk is the same as stock. The higher clamp force has greater chance of damaging the drivetrain. The RPS clutch is good deal plus it has exedy disk and same clamping force as stock. ($650)
The best clutch for money (1550) would have to be cusco carbon twin disk (made by exedy). I know someone who is happy with that clutch plus carbon can take alot of abuse. If money wasn't issue than get a carbon clutch

The clutch is heart of the car so why be cheap.

My 2cents

best bang

for your $$$$ - ACT.

I have the HKS (which TT installed w/Japanese instructions) GD Max twin disc. Expensive like the Exedy and the chatter is pretty annoying - that is all

If you're ever in Delaware or SE Pennsylvania - let me know.

People don't talk much about the HKS - but great things about the Exedy - Probably very similar in quality - Mark # TTrix was impressed, but not by the $$$$

I have the Excedy Hyper Single and it's awesome! Little grabby (kinda chattery), but able to put down 1.7XX sixty foot times all day! Very streetable in my opinion. I love it!

I hear mixed reviews about that and the twin disk is more streetable as far as my understanding.

Twin disk is better!

If Exedy twin disk cost $1700 installed and it last as long as two ACT clutches that are $900 installed or $1800 total you save $100. Twin disk will last longer.

My Tendency is to slip clutch which is what a twin disk does well which is why it is better on the street. The Single disk is more crappy and allows for less slipping.

The question is do you prefer to slip the clutch or not slip the clutch?

Eric, have you removed the restrictor in the clutch line?

I can tell you right now, I HAVE the Single disc and it slips fine! Takes some practice, but all new clutches do.

keep in mind when you buy a clutch like the HKS or the Exedy that you commit yourself to buy a new flywheel (which comes with that assembly) EVERY SINGLE TIME you change your clutch. On the ACT, however, you can get a light weight flywheel, and stick with the same one.

Why do you have to buy a new flywheel everytime? Can't you just buy a disc and pressure plate if you wanted from them?
