please excuse my ignorance...but why does it cost so much? I understand there needs to be some R&D, but it seems kinda steep for what you get...

Try making one This isnt some bling body piece this is a functional high quality competition piece that was made due to our racing efforts. These things cost us a lot of time and effort to make into a production piece and not a 1 off race item because we developed the part unexpectedly and worked wonderfully so we went through the hassle of releasing a part to the EVO community because it works and will help a lot of guys out- I thought that is what this is all about? There are many racers and product sponsored cars that already use and love it

Do you have an undercar picture of these, like while the car is on a lift?

The black one looks great! Do you have a pic of the silver one? (on or off the car)
Thanks

"Try making one "

i really doubt these are all hand made...
if so, that price is justified...

but i doubt it...so what gives?

Lambtron, define "standard"...standard DUMPBACK (instead of the signature DUMPBACK) or standard TURBOBACK. If I understand correctly, this aero shield is a confirmed fit for the Signature series DUMPBACK only (the magnaflow). Clear as mud, I think. Now my question is will the "fabricated" part fit both the non-signature dumpback and turboback (the aussie made one)? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and how about giving your exhausts part numbers or something else less confusing to identify the differences between the three. The standard dumpback and the turboback share the same canister right? So I'm thinking if a=b and b=c then the turboback should also be included in the "fabricated" fitment.

Let me clear it up. Right now, the pans fit Signature exhausts (the ones with the oval Magnaflow muffler). The pans will require a little rework to fit the non signature exhausts (the one with the round Taipan mufflers. Pretty simple, no

Team Vishnu

It was mentioned that the fins are adjustable in some manner. In what manner are the adjustable and why? What is the reason they would need to be adjusted and what are the different effects of adjustment?

Also, I understand the tray getting rid of the parachute effect, but I am interested in the explaination of the so called venturi effect it creates an what is the aerodynamic threory involved with that effect and also the theory behind the vertical fins.

Thanks!!

Great product by the way..

You make it sound like we pop a squat and out comes a diffuser.

Here's a hot tip: Don't make assumptions based on what you think. The price is very justified considering the following:
- R&D
- cost of materials(aluminum, nuts/bolts, anodizing materials, boxes, etc.)
- cost anodizing the aluminum
- labor (hours spent hand making the diffusers and kits to install them.)

Until then, we'd appreciate it if you didn't badger us over the cost of the diffuser. Thanks.

"Don't make assumptions based on what you think"wtf?

so should i make assumptions based on what you think??

thats how life works... you gain information, and then you apply it...

Sorry budlong,

I worded it all wrong in response to "unless they are hand made..if so that price is justified but I doubt it.." I think I was a little on the harsh side with my response. But what I meant is, you should ask questions before you make assumptions such as that. You said it yourself "you gain information and then apply it" Anyways, aside from that, basically what you can gain from it is that you have to factor in all of those items I listed, and then there is the markup in price to gain profit off the product and to recoupe the money spent in making it.

Yeah, I have been wondering about the same thing ... esp. how the venturi effect comes into play, so I searched and found this article: http://motoring.telegraph.co.uk/moto.../24/ixmot.html

Based on the article, I assume that the venturi effect created by the Vishnu undertray speeds up the airflow under the car, thereby creating more downforce; and the adjustable fins will determine how much of a venturi effect you're going to get, which is good, since you don't want to end up like the Mercedes CLK at the 1999 LeMans
