Nor do we have any results of other stock EVOs on this particular dyno (there are no EVOs sold in this strange country . So, how this dyno compares to ours is a bit unknown at this time. Stock WRXs, however, put down ~170whp so it can't read too differently from ours.

This car also ran 272in/264ex cams. There does seem to be a slightly loss in torque in the 4000-4500rpm where peak torque usually occurs. However, torque in the 5000 and up range is, at the very least, every bit as good as the more conventional cam combos.

More info later...

I guess the main difference between this car & ez76's is the exhaust manifold. Which from comparing these two cars is negligible. Not taking into account the different cam set-up and dyno

Brian, how much labor is it to swap the turbo nozzle? Is the 10.5 nozzle a Mitsu part?

Thanks Homie,
Ron

I'll be notifying you of my duno results in a few weeks as well. I have Stage 1+ and am installing SS header and O2 housing. Between the two will sit the 10.5 hot-side. Oh yea, 272's and running 93 octane...stay tuned!

Are ya certain the SS header is necessary?

I thought so; however, the recent results are saying otherwise

Waitin to pull the same trigger

Yea, my initial thought was "no way." I recently got a deal too good to be true, so we'll see. The header is for future upgrades anyway. The worst thing to happen at this point is nothing. Keep in touch, I'd love to see your results. Are you going with a O2 housing as well?

I can say the 10.5 upgrade is a worthwhile upgrade.. the Header should help torque a little bit, but not so sure if the gains really are all that noticable. The O2 housing in my experience is an interesting paradox.. There's been speculation that on the stock turbo, this upgrade offers very little gains, however with the upgraded housing, its likely worthwhile to reduce that possible restriction. My experience has been with a Titanium turbo, so spool characteristics are a little different than an upgraded stock turbo. However for the cost of the part, and relative simplicity of this upgrade (and simple stealthiness) Its definitely worthwhile. Especially if used in conjunction with an already good upgrade path.

The more I read this stuff, the more I'm sure I made the right decisions in my upgrade path. I've already made 11 second runs (Using a GTECH Pro) without a majority of my modifications being complete, I can only see the upgraded turbo and "Grassroots" type of conventional upgrades offering even more dramatic gains.

Good luck guys, I like the less is more approach and will always give credit where its due!
