Vivid Racing is proud to introduce B&M Short Shifter Kits to their EVO line up. B&M has a long history in shifting components and perfect quality. These CNC aluminum short shifters also include a B&M shift knob, instructions, and lube. The Lube is for easy install .

We are actually using the shifter in our EVO and it feels great, and enhances shifts.

hmmm, looks like the one shipped to me by another vendor.. I noticed NO reduction in the throw..

This is a short shifter, not a short throw.

That shaft looks straight. Isn't the Evo's shaft bent or offset?

My geometery skill must be lacking. If you keep the lower section the same length, the same pivot point and a shorter upper section would that not shorten the throw???

the one i put on looks identical and there is no problem without the bend.. it shifts fine..

But one thing to note is that it does not come with a plastic retainer, so you have to shave or cut the weight off the stock shifter to get the plastic retainer off..

that looks just like my B&M shifter on my Lancer OZ, do you know if B&M is using the same one?

The lancer is the same as the evo shifter.. Not sure if they are making seperate ones though..

It is also the same as the 2002+ eclipse and the older evos..

Does this put stress on anything more than stock?

It shouldn't.. but it does have the ability to because the throw is shorter the syncros have less time to "Spool up" to mesh the gears..
