so I guess big turbos shouldnt be sold either, without a warning that you can blow your motor, or boost controllers either, those might not be a good idea either. c'mon guy, we're all buying parts that are putting a strain on how our engines were originally designed. its just another cog in the wheel os performance parts.

Please see it from my view as a buyer/user and not a seller!

SlowCar deffinitely has a point. The technology allows us to have such features, yet the companies aren't using them. I'm sure on a mass production level, the extra safety features would cost the manufacturer next to nothing, not to mention they are getting a huge markup on these kits.

I'm not here to stir trouble...its just so sad to see quite a few cars detonate running high boost when their injection failed. A simple boost cut solenoid would have saved these folks engine from engine failure.

Abner-sold UTEC. I use an LM-1 and rpm converted now.

Yellowgsr- No other safewguards yet.H20 has the best anti-detonation characteristics, and meth adds fuel at a higher octane.

gunzo- 1. I don't race, only drive aggressively on open AZ highways.
2. If you take the overflow tube and wrap it around the top, you can get 1.5 gals in the resevior.

Rcebowl- Coolingmist (listed above)

Statix- I've blown a motor already, (not related to injection). I noticed a loss of power immediately before and tried to drive thru it. You may get some scortching of the piston, but it shouldn't blow if you get out asap. I'm sure if you think back, there was a couple seconds of power loss before it blew.

As far as safety devices, I seems pretty simple to make a switch that couyld be installed universally for all kits. If boost >= "X" and H2O injection pressure is <= "Y" the cut power to boost controll solenoid. (Manual boost controllers would be challenging.)

ANYTHING can fail and cause problems on a high performance turbo car. I think the simple design of H2O (alcohol) injection would minallize the chances of an issue.

I feel you are more likely to throw a belt (timing or water pump) and cause problems than have issues with a high quality water injection kit.

I do aggree that a universal safety switch should be made. Maybe I'll make one???

SMC will have a fail safe out shortly that is most likely going to be universal but its still in the works so it could be only for their kits. It is going to kill boost to wastegate when it sees a pressure drop in the alky line.
