thanks SMC
thanks SMC
I always give credit where credit is due, SMC is a company that stands behind their products, where customer service is paramount and one of those very few companies out there who still have a word of honor.
My experience with them recently with regards to my "smc alky kit" was so refreshing... one call is all it took to repair and replace some parts on my old unit and Steven was so nice to cover everything under warranty. All my inquiries were addressed and I felt like I've known him (Steven) for a while, for he was so nice and patient over the phone (note: I haven't meet this guy yet), I received my unit within a couple of days and everything was so painless....thanks again

I am glad to hear that. There is a entire world of motorsports behind that name, one step in the worng direction and his reputation goes out of the window.
So far I heard nothing but outstanding customer service feedback from the sellers(Dynoflash, Buschur, Nolimitsports) and others.
Fortunately Steve since to be a gentleman that stands behind his products that why he is number one seller and his products are well used buy not only Evos but a great variety of other turbo and supercharged cars.
Definately two thumbs up for Steve and his great customer service and products.

I still haven't decided on kit brand yet but SMC provided timely responses and answers to questions, even stupid ones, that I had. Thier product is also very evospecific and had at a decent buck.
Several other brands are out there with friendly customer service too, some new to Evo applications, some with state of the art systems, and the list goes on.
I'm still searching for whats best for my needs, but I think I have one in mind.

the #s are actually 11.59@120mph w/c was achieved with SMC kit on top of existing mods (i.e. aem,hks272 cams,3"tb,tp,....) but running a oem turbo and pump gas (93 octane)

It took me 2 minutes for a phone call toi take my address and parts needed, no waiting on the line, etc. SMC does stand behind their products!
I am very happy with my kit and I've gain about 50WHP from 100% methanol with tuning with my UTEC. I know I can't go back to straight 91 octane without methanol now.

Steve is a great guy who stands behind his product but this does not negate the fact that there have been a lot of failures. Steve always sends me new parts when I need them, but it is getting old.
"Bulletproof" Safeguard SMC Controller

Sorry for the wait on the safeguard.......it's been a freakin zoo here. It looks like it will be a swap to the new v3.0 controller with safeguard built in. This makes for a much neater look than adding another box to graft into the old controller. The 3.0 controller will have an extra dial to set the safeguard point. (for example 20 psi) If you reach 20 psi and the controller does not sense an alky pressure signal from the pump the safeguard will close a solenoid valve that will mount inline between the wastegate and boost controller. (factory or otherwise) When the valve closes the boost will drop to wastegate spring level. Sound good? Any input from you is appreciated. Will put it up on the website as soon as it is available....and after my main vendors have tested it. Thanks for your patience!
