The reason why I think the cams are a better move is A. The lesser chance of them causing a catastrophic failure B. The amount of boost you would want to run to get the most out of the gains really isn't safe in my mind without head studs, but you will probably want to do that down the road anyway and C. The cams are something that you will always be benefiting from, and never have to continually waste cash on (in the form of alk)

99% of the people go with cams before alky. Id like to hear from Warrtalon on this one since he was tuned with an alky kit before adding the cams.

he also ran a 12.01 at 113.7 without cams and running an alky-like octane mix of race gas and pump.

I meant both, but don't worry about it now. You should have said this in your original post..

Now i would say it really doesn't matter which one you get first. Do you have a tune already? Maybe BOV because sotcker leaks boost. Maybe 10.5 hotside (im not sure what year your car is)

No tune yet, I would be getting it tuned once I put the alky in, or the cams

Buy the Gsc, or Comp 272s and get them installed by Scott, then a couple weeks later get Scott to install the alky kit.

In order of most power yeild to least:

1) Alcohol, Cams (stock valvetrain type), Tune
2) Alcohol, tune
3) Cams, Tune
4) Cams Untuned
5) Alcohol Untuned

+whatever for both

...i'd rock the cams first..take advantage of better flowing intake and exhaust gases..once used to that... slap in meth and now take advantage of lower intake temps...for increased timing ...and boost...cams and meth = "oh happy day"
