An aftermarket UICP would mostlikely allow you to install the nozzle closer to the Throtle body because the stock UICP has the fitting right at the moth of the Throtle body and it also runs through the 90 degres bent.

You can still install it but it has to be positioned a few inches back(on the solid stock aluminium piping)

Here are a couple of pics I took a couple of minutes ago, the piping is a Buschur UICP and the alcohol kit is SMC.

I did the LICP and UICP on my Evo 8 MR and gained 1.5-2mph higher trap speed.
My LICP is a AMS and Upper is Buschur Deluxe with 1st Gen DSM BOV.

It look like you will be running identical set up as mine(SMC, Intercooler pipes, 91OCT, altitude, heat) , I think youn are in the correct path with this mods. I personally recommend an UICP.

Hey Carlos, I am installing a Cooling Mist alky/water kit with and I am
not changing the UICP, I am leaving it stock. I plan to add a AMS IC and LICP later on.

The other mods I am installing this weekend are:

HKS 264 Cams
AEM Adjustable Cam Gears
255 Walbro fuel pump
APR head studs
Cometic 1.29mm Head Gasket
XEDE w/ Smart Upgrade
Cooling Mist Alky/Water Injection
2.5" stock exaust with no cat (my APS 3" Full Turbo back exhaust is still stuck on customs after 4 months)
Exedy Twin Clutch
HKS Type 1 turbo timer

I found this guy that did the fastest 4 wheel drive in Brazil, a 600whp WRX and he is installing all of these for me this weekend. He sugested the Alky Kit, so I read this thread and was wondering about it. I will be posting the pics of the WRX,
0-60 in 2.9 seconds, amazing.

Thanks in advance for the answer!

Long time no hearing from you.. How are you my friend? Did you get your issue solved with the parts you order a long time ago? I thought the vendor lost them right?

Yeah, I think you can still maintain the stock Upper pipe but is your choice, I prefer an aftermarket one.

Whassup Carlos? Long time I have not posted anything on the forums.
Getting my parts installed this weekend!! Finally!! The vendor shipped the stuff two days after my friend left NYC. This was about two months ago, another friend came down last week and brought it for me. The exhaust still stuck on the brazilian customs (4 months now).

So, I am using the stock exaust without the catalizer, 2.5" with no restrictions.
If the APS exhaust does not arrive, I might buy another 3" full turbo back one.
Which one do you recomend? The emissions in Brazil are lower than the US, so a 3" full turbo back exhaust should be no problem with emissions.
