Water/alky injection with 91 octane and low boost, worth it?
I saw the group buy for the cooling mist standard kit for $250. Would it be worth it to run this on my car just for the sake of offsetting the low octane 91 crap Cali gas?
I’m not looking to run higher than 21psi. Car is daily driven, don’t want to have to worry about fail-safes or a grenaded motor.
I figure if the tank runs dry or some other problem I would be back to normal performance minus the water injection without harm. Would there be any performance gains? Would it be more like 93 octane then 91?

Mods: TBE, K&N dropin, MBC at 21psi, dynoflash eflash
Thanks

The higher the water concentration the easier this will be to do though
id just like to point out youre wrong. I push almost 30psi on 93 and 50/50.
If you have any method for tuning, you'd be in great shape. Add an asswhack of timing, pull just a smidge of fuel.
If you don't have a tuning method and you run a low enough flow rate you could easily make your 91 more like 93.
but why would you?
Might as well bump the boost up a smidge and have some more fun.

this part isn't so good.
Your car will learn an advance multiplier based on knock history. Since you won't have any freakin' knock the multiplier will be brought to max. Then if you run the tank dry, you'll start to detonate. If you are just at a low load the ecu will have the time to compensate, but if you are in it, it might not. If you get low, and you don't have meth, adding water is better than nothing.
how'd you like the dynoflash? was it mail in? We had a couple guys with the mail in version of the flash only make 2-8HP on the dyno. I don't know if this is the standard or not. So I'm not going to make any claims against DynoFlash. But for my customers it was pretty much a waste of time for them.
Especially when I offer dyno tuned reflashes for $300 and they got 50-100HP (based on mods)

I think there was significant improvement. Car pulls alot harder from 4k up. Doesnt feel like it runs our of wind up top now. I havent had a chance to get it to a dyno yet. But once I do I will post results for sure.
