Iam gonna be buying a Aquamist 1s kit in the near future, and had plans of installing it myself, or possibly have it installed at a shop. Iam curious the times it takes for both. DIY how long? Shop install how long?

 

for the aquamist kit Sean Ivey(shop install) said 1.5 days. Now I dont know what that equates to in man hours but his price was $750 to give you an idea on labor charges. that's a tough call man.

 

I spent about 8 hours on mine spread out over about a week. Search here for the thread, it was an HFS-1. I love it!

 

The 1s system isn't hard to install, it's a very basic system. The toughest part is mounting the pump and water tank.

You are going to want to buy an aquamist water tank fitting. It will make things 10x easier.

 

my preassembled kit can be installed in 2 hours by a DIYer. the only install tool your average person wont have is the tap for the nozzles, which can be purchased from mcmaster.com for 10-15dollars.

that beats the 750 dollar charge.
