The new pump set up sounds great. If my pump ever goes bad, I'll upgrade to his new one. So far I have about 5 trouble-free years and counting on my current Aquamist pump.

that certainly speaks a great deal about the quality of these aquamist units!

I don't think it would be an "upgrade" to go from the magnetic piston pump to a Shurflow pump if you don't need the extra capacity, would it? I was under the impression that the shift to the Shurflow pumps was to get a lot more capacity for a reasonable price (versus, say, dual magnetic piston pumps). The offset is that the durability of the pump probably isn't as good (more friction internally) and it's a lot larger and heavier.

It was more of a thought that if my current pump ever needed replacement, I would would upgrade to the Shurflow for the extra flow capacity. I figured if I needed that extra flow for a future project, it would be there. But you're right about the offset, so I may think twice when that moment arrives to replace the pump. So far my current Aquamist pump is hanging in there and has never overheated even after back to back 1/4 mile runs.

you working on a redundant alky system with 2 shurflos?

2 weeks ago, i was contemplating a intercoolerless system with 8 injectors, 3 fuel tanks and 2 fuel pumps - decided against it b/c i think the car will look like crap having a 2.5" tube running across instead of an IC........4 injectors for the intake tract

So you will run both together or have the spare one kick in when low flow/pressure is detected?

they run in tandem...primary nozzle 225ml/min, secondary nozzle 175ml 100% meth.
Intake temps are much lower with the 2 pump/nozzle vs 1 ...better cooling acroos cylinders...
