meth+nitro with certainly yield more power than 100 oct leaded gas and it will also keep from destroying o2 sensors that leaded gas will do...as for cheaper it really depends on how cheap you can find the stuff locally...

What about 110? My other concern is that I want a meth kit that I dont have to worry about any of the kit corroding from the nitro.

Well on my EVO on E98 I put 1/2gal of nitro to a whole tank. The car felt faster off the line but brought my AFRS from a 11.5-12.2 and really did no feel much faster up top. I feel it needs to be richer but I was just out of fuel. I kinda found I had 3cts on knock all the time cruse and wot. Since I was on a stock motor I did no want to play to hard with it.

Once I have my 10:1 alum rod motor together in a month or so I may play around with the injection. I still want to run my 10.9 on stock turbo with no meth or nitro help 1st.

Nitromethane burns stoich at 1.6 AFR, just small amounts will push gasoline scaled AFR lean

You put 1/2 a gallon on nitro in your gas tank???? You do realize that nitro does not mix with gas right? This is a recipe for disaster. Excuse me if I am assuming incorrectly, but since you said your goal was to go 10.9 with no meth I am guessing that you added this to your gas tank.

Would nitro in a meth tank yield more power then 110 leaded race gas? Im unsure of going with a race gas tune or getting a meth kit and running a wicked mix! Race gas is $6.00 a gallon here and I get about 10 miles a gallon on it. Would meth and nitro be cheaper?
Not to be a dick, but please do your homework thoroughly before messing with nitro. It will yield a ton more power than 110 leaded race fuel, but you have to take the risk to reap the reward. Anyone willing to play with nitro had better have a spare motor on the engine stand or be willing to risk more than perhaps any other mod out there. With that said, the rewards can be sick power. I am on the fence about giving it a shot. I have a dyno appointment for 1/19/08 and I will be doing a lot of testing of an exhaust cutout that I made, nitrous vs nitrous & meth vs nitrous, meth & c16, and perhaps do a couple of pulls with a 10% nitro mix in the meth. I will probably bring a bottle of Jack Daniels with me that day to muster up the courage to pour in the nitro and let her rip. If I am feeling really stupid I will spray a 100 shot on top of it, but I would have to be hammered to grow those kind of *****. This is on fresh re-build with forged internals. I do have 2 more engines in the shop just in case.

BUMP

If anyone has succesfully experimented with nitromethane please share your results and formula. IF you do not want to admit publically to using it please PM me and I willl keep my mouth shut. I am doing a full day of dyno testing on Saturday and I would like to get some ideas from those that have been down this path. I will be injecting it with a methanol mix starting at 5%.

I just saw some NX octane booster today at Super Pep Bacs and it contains nitromethane!

There's just as much nitromethane in NX octane booster as there is Vitamin B in Cap'n Crunch ... just enough to get it on the ingredients list to make you think it's cool.

Unfortunatly my testing did not go as planned. My tow vehicle broke the day before I was scheduled to drive 350 miles to my dyno tune. I ended up driving there with my wife and 2 kids. I dropped them in DC to see some of the sights while I went to Turbo XS for the tuning. Once there things got worse. Jermaine had blocked off the whole day for my testing and then 2 customers who had supposedly canceled showed up. So there was not enough time to do all the testing that I wanted. Plus to be honest I was too scared to spray it or play with the nitro considering that I now had to drive the car home with my family. I am not going to abandon the idea. I will do the testing locally now that I have good base maps on the car. BTW the car made 500WHP on my budget built journal bearing 50 trim with no loss in spool compared to an AMS 50 BB 50 trim. All told I have about $1200 into my turbo kit. I also found a good nitro mix. VP fuels makes a 50/50 m1meth/nitro mix with no lube. $35 a gallon. If anyone locally wants to give it a shot I will hook you up with a 5% mix for testing. Sorry for the let down, but I will eventually get around to testing this. Car is probably going to be too fast to need it though. I am sure I will be going faster than 11.6 which requires a cage that I don't plan on doing. I did get a chance to test my exhaust cutout which gained about 12 HP and 12 lbs of torque over my full 3" with no cat. This would equate to over a 25 HP gain on a more restrictive exhaust. Cat alone is worth almost 15hp.
