um... that all sounds like a bunch of work! I agree that a 35 shot would help with cooling... you could also do a nos IC sprayer to help with cooling for the times you need it, and buy a larger & more efficient IC

Where is this simulation, send it over, lol.

I just looked around a bit and found the boiling point of meth at 40 psi (14.7 + 25) to be 88° C

assuming meth is typically at 24°C in your trunk and that you can cool it to 0°C

this is a temp change of 24°

Also we assume the meth has to reach 90°C before it can vaporize (an average of the 88 I found and the 92 you found)

It takes 1109 kJ/kg to vaporize meth
It also takes 2.51 * 66 = 165.66 to heat up warm meth enough so that it can vaporize. This means with warm meth the total heat removed is 1109 + 165.66 = 1274.66

With cold meth the total is 2.51 * 24 = 60.24 units higher.

In summary, chilling the meth from around room temperature down to 0°C will increase the amount of heat removed by 4.7% Its not huge but at least it seems we have come up with a conclusive number.

bringing this up from the dead. What was the outcome of this testing. I would think this would only benefit with guys running extreme boost like 50psi otherwise wont the fine mist just condense into water drops?

I run 100% now so I'd rather try something else personally like no2 on the intercooler that would cool down the air going into the motor

**** lemonhead you just made me post on a 1yr+ old thread

check out the last sentance of my final post -

That's as far as I got though. I never tested it but the math should be pretty accurate. One of the stumbling blocks was actually implimenting it. You would have to put some kind of cold pack in the tank so that when the ice melts it doesn't dilute the mix or clog the feed line.

ya that was what I was after whether or not someone actually tried it and tested it out.

Use bartender ice from the liquer store. Most other ice is frozen tap water.

Also check with pump manufacturer to see if it's safe to run cold fluids. Hate to crack the pump head

Maybe this was mentioned, but I didn't see it talkd about alot. The problem with using ice is that it will melt, and will melt unevenly. Meaning that your pure meth, which you tuned for, may get a nice swig of water if the ice is too low. I was thinking that a cylindrical cooler, like what is put in coolers, would be a good idea. Freeze it, drop it in the tank, and pull it out when you are done racing.

What about after the cold meth absorbs all the heat. It would then condense back into big drops which would make even cylinder distrubution problems. I just dont see a benefit of doing this really. But come on, someone try it out and be the ginnie pig

What you need is a way to spray powdered snow in there

i have a idea...

i'm guessing you want to cool your meth? in a magazine i have theres a section on "Cooling Products" i tried findin it on the net but couldnt i'll have to find that magazine...but what it is, is a CNC machined canaster that a frozen pop can will fit into and you can pour water in it also to help it cooler the fuel further more....but the fuel line hooks on either side of the canaster and theres a passage thru the side wall of the canaster that allows the fuel to travel thru the can and cool from the frozen pop and water which is in the canaster and when your fuel exit it will be frosty cold its just an idea
