Hi, I just got an HFS-5 kit from a member here. I've read dudical's install guide and the instructions manual, however, there's a few questions that still need some clarification. Before I go on, here are the current mods on the engine with the stock evo 8 turbo:
AMS intercooler and licp
Comp 280 cams
AMS catless turbo back
AMS mbc spiking to 1.7 bar and tapering to 1.5 bar
1. I have an HKS EVC V on order and I've read somewhere that I can play with the lo and hi boost settings and have a low boost (somewhere around my current boost levels) that doesn't use meth and a high boost setting with meth kicking in. Someone also mentioned that these can be tuned into 1 map if tuned correctly. Is this possible? Anyone have a specific wiring diagram for the junction box and the evc?
2. With my current mods, which jet should I use? I have stock injectors but i do not know what my max duty cycle is. I am guessing a 1mm jet? I currently have 1 .9mm jet and 2 1mm jets.

Are you planning on running meth or water or a mix?
That will dictate nozzle size.

if you are on stock turbo and planning on running meth you only really need 1x 1mm nozzle. that will be more thne enough to spike 32psi on stock turbo (100%meth). if you are running only water, then the .8mm nozzle should suit you well. if you are running a bigger turbo, then size it accordingly...generally with the green i go with two nozzles, .8mm and .9mm... and with bigger turbos, up to two 1mm nozzles.
yes you can run two boost settings on the same tune if you tune it properly. the way to do this is to seperate the high and the low boost by a significant amount. say low boost at 18-19psi, have the trigger point for the meth be 19-20psi, and have meth spike to 30 psi. when tuning it, tune the car without the meth on the low boost setting. then turn the boost up with the meth and tune the higher load cells and interpolate between the two load ranges you see with and without meth. at low boost on pump gas like 18-19psi you can run very lean and still not get any knock, say 12-12.5:1 AFR. with the meth on you want to target 12ish:1 AFR.
to wire the system to allow high and low boost you need a switch added to the system so that you can turn the boost controller on, even with the DDS3 off.
assuming your boost controller is like either the apexi AVCR or greddy profec B spec 2, you'll want to wire it like this:

Regarding the wiring diagram above, if I have an EBC why do I still have to wire it to the stock bcs? I've looked at the instructions for the EVC and there's only a power wire and a ground wire, and you can switch between two boost levels, A and B. So according to your diagram, if i want low boost, do I 1) turn off the DDS 2) toggle the switch you drew 3) switch from high boost to low boost in the evc?
if you have a EBC, it will come with a BCS. BCS = boost controll solenoid. it is a pulse width modulated solenoid valve that opens and closes to control boost. the stock system also uses a BCS, but in this case i'm drawing a picture of the BCS that comes with the EBC you have.
think of it this way: if your EVC only had a power and a ground wire connected to it, how would it control boost

install question
im having the almost the same question. i have the evc6. the boost controller has one power wire going to the solenoid and one going the the controler.i have the power source coming from a ign wire. i want to wire the switch in so i can have my low and high boost settings with the dds3 turned off. do i just wire pins 11 and 12 on the junction box to the power wire going to the solenoid instead of the stock solenoid. if yes then how do i wire the switch.
