The Aquamist uses a Shurflo pump. There are three internal "by-pass" valves to maintain the line pressure. These are mechanical poppet valves, virtually zero pulsing compared to an "on-demand" switch often use on many PPS systems.

A small accumulator stores a small amount of pressurised water after an injection event ready for the next activation.
