A Drunken Engine's Longevity?
Will a mix of 50/50 will eventually brake down our engine? rubber gaskets? I'm kinda ballin on a budget and plan on running my car into the 200k+ mileage area. Is that lifespan feasable on meth?

I'd want to go with an aquamist system because the DDS3 system looks sick. Also want to wire it in tandem with the Tephra v5 mod so when the meth is off, the map automatically switches.
I think at my level, the next step would be meth:
Apexi Intake + induction box
IX turbo
megan o2
nisei LICP and UICP
Ebay Intercooler
Works 269 cams
custom 3" exhaust with TP & vibrant muffler
Hallman MBC
custom grounding cables
There was another thread on how meth corrodes aluminum but then it turned out like a lot of the threads on beloved evom. It didn't really say how long people have run meth for mileage-wise. Thats the input I'm looking for, thanks.

At levels allowed when not as knock limited there is less room for sloppy tuning being the major risk. The stock turbo too can make matters worse if pushed choking the flow of gas making a time bomb preignition event if CHTs are high when overtimed and rich. Colder plugs will help here.
I believe methanol injection itself will actually prolong engine longevity by avoiding knock, the water will steam clean the engine, and both can provide cooler turbine inlet temps (turbo health) and lower CH and EG temps.
Stories about "methanol detonating on oil" is completely BS

I don't think you are going to find an answer to your question.
There are many reasons why a vehicle using alcohol injection could have engine failure.
Poor tune for an alcohol injection setup, crummy injection setup, injection failure with no or poor failsafe.
And that is on top of all the other things that could go wrong with a modified car.
How many evo 8-9's do you think there are with 100K + right now? Very few...

several VIII's should be pushing 100k now. I'm at 45k tho
But yeah, getting an answer here is like pulling teeth!
I'm directing the question to guys with a proper setup.

Even if an 8 has 100k miles I seriously doubt it has been on meth/alchy that long. These kits haven't exactly been widely used or available but the last 3 or 4 years. I have been using meth for 3 years with no problems (although it has been on a mustang). The only case I have personally seen of an engine devoloping low compression on a cylinder while using meth had many other issues throughout its life such as poor tuning at times, high boost all the time, run low on oil twice. That makes it hard to prove that meth had anything to do with it. I personally believe that proper tuning (as always) is the key to life on meth/alchy.
^ right on
As long as you have a top notch system, get a good map by somebody that knows how to tune for alcohol/water injection and take care of you system by doing checks and maintenance, there is no reason why a motor shouldn't last at reasonable horsepower levels.

I've found the answer to my dilemma:

Already bought an HFS1 kit. YES TO METH!
