Unhappy HELLP!! Need a solenoid for my AEM meth kit - recommendations?

I'm pretty sure my AEM kit's nozzle's leaking meth/water (50/50) into the LICP. especially when the tank's full, I've got this problem where after leaving the car not running for a while, when I start the cold engine, it doesn't start until I reallllyyy crank the ignition. the last time I actually had to crank-start for almost 30s I think before the engine started. and even when the engine started, idle would drop horribly low and sometimes even stall.

probably a meth puddle collecting at the injection site yes? unfortunately the AEM kit doesn't come with a check valve or a solenoid. I've been reading that a solenoid will work better for this purpose. but which one? how's this cooling mist one? will it work with my AEM controller?

This has happened to numerous people with the AEM kit.

You get what you pay for. AEM is near the bottom with Aquamist at the top in terms of quality and reliability.

We have had other customers bring in their kits for us to install and tune "at their own risk". Some of which have flooded their engines just like yourself.

That solenoid pictured is crap and made of plastic. It will break after time.

We have metal units rated to 250psi+ which are much more reliable.

anyway, decided to go with the Labonte solenoid since you didn't reply to my PM..

can somebody tell me which wire for the AEM controller to wire up to the solenoid? I understand it uses a 12v line

I'm thinking the orange line (pump) in the diagram?

my aem kit comes with a check valve.

it is a black valve that is hooked up between the pump and the nozzle. do you have it.

check the aem site, there is a check valve in the new system and is on the new install manual.

check with aem or give them a call so that they will get you one for free.

i have not yet install my meth system, put i will run a solenoid along with the check valve just to be sure.

i think the proper way to hook up the solenoid is to tap at the pump line wiring. if the pump is on, the solenoid is on; therefore pumping meth in the intake.

i think that it is important to keep the meth line short between the pump and the nozzle; since when the pump is off (off boost) the meth left inside the feed line can "flood" in the intake (ic pipe in our case) and cause problem.

people should not install pump in the trunk. proper way is to run long meth line from tank (inside trunk) to the pump (under hood) then to the solenoid, then to the check valve.

ablaze,

where will you run the check valve if you were me?

before or after the solenoid?

are you running failsafe with your aem system? which one?

what else do you think we will need to run the aem system safely?

since you installed it already, do you like the aem system? is it worth installing at all?

what set up are you running?

i will be running fp red, mx1 cam, upgrade fuel, arp head stud......

how about you?

Yea, I am suprized aem is still not proving a checkvalve nore a solnoid with there kits. I know AEM knows about this problem because they "AEM" bought some check valves off of me 6 months ago or so.

my aem kit comes with a plastic check valve but i am going to run a solenoid instead of the check valve because check valve does lowered my injector pressure. is it true?
