How long does it take for methanol to go bad siiting in a plactic tank in car?
I don't see how that is possible. If your using straight meth it should'nt go bad at all. Heet is meth, windshield washer fluid is meth, and both of them come in plastic bottles and they don't go bad at all.
Methanol should be stored in a metal container and sealed tight. Reason being is because it tends to deteriorate plastic over a long period of time. It also loves to absorb water, thats another reason why it's stored in metal containers. I wouldnt keep it in the car for more than a few weeks, less if it's been sitting in the sun.
i don't think methanol is going to absorb water through plastic but it will absorb water from the atmosphere if the plastic tank is vented. i'm pretty sure i've left m1 in a plastic fuel jug for a few years and i did a hydro test and it was still like 98%. methanol will not deteriorate a plastic tank. the little white tanks that come in all the water/meth kits are all made out of hdpe which is the same material used to in fuel jugs.
if you're using "meth" for water/methanol injection then it doesn't really "go bad". it's just going to absorb water which you're already injecting anyways.
on a side note, i'm more wary of storing meth in a metal container because of rust issues. i've seen 55 gallon drums of methanol truly go bad because someone left the vent open and water got into the drums (because methanol is hygroscopic) and then the drums rusted and ruined the methanol.

Beside gramma and punctuation issues this is a perfect post!
