SEARCHED... AEM Meth Nozzle Location

I plan to put it about 6 inches from the TB. I saw a video showing that the nozzle on the AEM kit tends to "leak" a bit after its shut off. So would putting the nozzle on the bottom side of the UICP inhibit that a bit? or will puttin it on the side be ok? Thanks

you can place it on the bottom pointing up, but i would also add a check valve.

you can do something like this

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/solenoid-17.html

or this

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/check-valves-64.html

i have tried the 30.00 one and it works well with the aem kit to prevent leakage.

i need a check valve BADLY. car barely wants to start some days...

mount the nozzle 90* to intercooler pipe as close to the throttle body as possible...
it would be best to have a bung welded...and teflon tape the nozzle...

mine is underneath pointing up...to keep it hidden...as long as the nozzle is not mounted to the pipe at an angle you can mount it anywhere on the pipe...

If you place the check valve that's included in the kit close to the final injection point the bleed down "leak" is almost completely eliminated. The nozzle can be installed in any position around your charge piping.

BTW, do you have a link to the video you saw? There are quite a few water/methanol injection videos out there but I haven't come across the one you mentioned.

Thanks.

Hmm, are you guys getting new kits from retailers that don't have check valves in them?

I did not get a check valve. The video was on EvoM somewhere. It was supposedly the Auqamist kit vs. AEM kit, this was an internet vid which i didnt put much stock in. But my AEM one does tend to drip a bit after its off.

Well it definitely can drip without a check valve. In fact, any of the variable pump pressure type systems will have a post-injection drip unless there is a check valve or solenoid installed.

Anyways, if you purchased this new and it didn't come with a check valve we'd be more than happy to send you one. Just give tech support a call: 1-800-423-0046. Be sure to have your serial number handy when you call.

They will leak for a second or two, the larger nozzles drip worse. Even see some amt of leaking with a solenoid SOV right on the nozzle The best way to decrease severity of leaking without solenoid stop is with multiple small nozzles, leaking will be less pronounced and partly atomized.

If your car chuggs after a long WOT input then the leaking needs addressing.

I have 4 small ones (M1, M2, M2, and M4) within 1 foot of TB and one solenoid controlled M1 right behind the MAF and remains dry after a pull.
