quamist hfs1 install problems

i read the install manuals and the info on the site, but i have come across the problem i am having. i install the kit according to the diagram attached but when i turn my key to ignition the jets is spraying the water continuously before the car even starts up and even after i turn ignition key off. it continues to spray for about 5 secs. what is my problem i down loaded the injector trigger diagram for my ecu which is a evo 7. is like the the trigger is is on direct power from the battery even though i make ajustment to the trigger is spraying with out stop until i take the key out.

I hope that you currently have the jets unhooked from the uicp. That said if you could take a pic that would help diagnose it. For the HFS-1 to pump like that the trigger has to be grounded. Double check all of you wiring. What version are you using?

The board wiring and settings. Glad to hear that it was unhooked.

At second look the trip adjust is turned all the way to the left. Try turning the trip adjust clockwise a so it is pointing to the 12 o' clock postion.

You also appear to be missing two wires that connect to the pump relay + and - . The wires go to the msv.

There are two wires for each pump relay as shown in the diagram. I was refering to medium speed valve and the red and blue wire that come from it (I believe its called msv). It should have to wires coming off of it. I will try and bring this to Richard L. attention and see if he has any idea. www.waterinjectioninfo.com has tons of info as well.

i found out why the pump was spraying all the time, the harness was wrong the flow sensor harness was hook up to flow level in the meth tank harness i switch them around the gauge now lights up when i turn ignition t o clicks, but now i am not getting the jet to spray i blizt the throttle after start up but the bump now not running or jet spraying. is this now a trigger source problem or did i burn out the dd3 or pump relay?

Jos,

When you purchase you the system, did you get the original harness? If you did not purchase the system new.

First of all, check the folllowing:
1. The DDS3's pin 23 only receives 12V power at the "pre-crank" position.
2. The default trigger is set to "PWM". Check the jumper link.
3. Disconnect the trigger wire from the fuel injector, ground it, tell me with the system sprays. (simulating 100% fuel DC)

Richard

mto57 - thanks for notifying me at the waterinjection.info forum. I am still out of the office until 5th November. My internet access is limited.

After you do what Richard suggested and verify that the system works on forced trigger. I would readjust the trigger threshold to where you want it (what I suggested to turn to 12 o'clock). This will have to be done while the car is driving. It should not kick just by giving the throttle a blip. I would not trigger mine unless sitting on my two step for to long while staging at the drag strip.

If it will not trigger like Richard said then post up another pic of your board.

Ps. You can also leave the trigger wire in place and then take an extra piece of wire and touch one end to the screw for the trigger terminal and then ground out the other end of the wire. This will cause it to force to work if it does (as Richard said)
