There are many on this forum who DD using methanol as a secondary fuel. Check at the stickies at the top of the water/meth injection subsection of the evo 8/9 tuning section.

I used to DD on meth for a year, and hated it. Had the top of the line coolingmist setup (CMGS controller, flow monitor, m10 injector, blah blah)..was a $600 setup, and was the most inconsistent thing I've ever experienced. Some pulls would be 10.0 afr's, while others would be 12.8. Sometimes meth would flow great, and other times it would barely blip one led on the flow monitor.

Switched over to e85, and no more worries.

Sounds like the kit was not installed correctly or was not that "top of the line". I have not had issues with inconsistency with either of my aquamist kits. I have been running methanol for over 60k mi. during the course of the past few years.

Be careful with your E85. The blends can become inconsistent especially in the winter. That can affect your tune as well.

Leetevo wrote about losing his motor due to a mistaken fill by the tanker which put gasoline in the E85 tank instead.

Go with Tephra v7 ROM and use alt maps for WM!
You will get the best of both worlds :-)

That is not "Top of the line" kit if it perform's like complete dog **** . Sry you had such a bad experience. I love my Aquamist HFS1, it works great, took me over 600whp with the stock block with ease. No problems here.

I used an Aquamist HSF-6 for a long time. Never had a single issue. I switched my car over to E85 so I no longer run one, but if I didn't have E85 I certainly still would be using one. If you are going to run meth/water injection then make sure to pony up the bucks and get a high quality kit like Aquamist.
