turbo smart type 3 "turbo surge"

This will now be my second BOV I have purchased in the last 2 months. I now have a turbo smart type 3 dual port from turbosmart. My HKS SSQV is a permanent christmas tree ornament. Sequential valves are not EVO friendly. I followed the instructions and used the exhaust port ( adapter facing the other side of the atmospheric horn) attached that to the recirculation hose to the intercool pipeing. That seem like a perfect fit just how lancershop described in there post on this forum. Used the stock vacuum line and set the spring to soft. And still the turbo surges when I let off the gas. And that's with the car at a stand still. Not even with a real load on it. So I thought maybe I installed backwards. Maybe the exhaust port is suppose to be facing down towards my HKS RS intak. So I did that with unfortanetely the same result. Now the vacuum line has been t'd in 2 spots. 1 is next to the throttle body for the boost gauge and the second is 6 inches from the BOV. for the boost controller, same line as stock. Is this to many? I figured as long as everything is tight there should'nt be any loss of vacuum in the line.If you think it's to much then which line should go where? The weird thing is I can run this exact set up as I have for the last year with the stock BOV with no problems. So how come every time I try a new BOV it wants to surge?Any ideas or is this another 250.00 ornament for my tree?

The BOV is to be installed with the horn facing up. There should not be any Tee's on the vacuum line to the BOV. That is your number one problem. Once you have remedied your tee situation, adjust the BOV to be as soft as possible, while still not causing cavitation. If you have anymore problems, I would be happy to help.
