Mod Friendly: California.
Quick question, just wanted to know if anybody has had thier dealership be mod friendly.
I am going to be in Encino, L.A area. I wouldnt mind driving 2-3 hours if the dealership is mod friendly.
Thanks!

I am about to call Hunnington, and I am already considering South Coast although I havent checked how far they are.
Thanks for the info.
And yes, I know there are limits, I am talking more about, TBE, etc.

Yeah well I have also heard that people have gotten warranty work done to their car.. They cant just void your warranty if you cahange something.... Google the Magnus Morrison Act....

Be Careful
Huntington Beach is good but be careful who you talk to. Last 2 times I've been there, I have gotten two very different answers; first time i was told that only a catback would be allowed and maybe a boost gauge. But today, I was told that I could add TBE, gauge, and sorts.
Now the catch with today's answer is that if I came in with a problem, they would assume it was because of an after-market part and charge $75 to check everything. If the problem was not related to the mod, then they would fix it under warranty. That seems fair enough to me...Lets hope they back what they say in this case.

The truth is ... That is a gray area. If they really look for a flash, they will find it.
If they find it, they will most likely void your warranty.
They're ok with small mods i.e. ... Catback, drop in filter, guages turbo timers, IC piping.
Anything Emissions related or ECU related they usually freak on.
With all that said, Mark at South Coast Mitsubishi showed me an 03 Evo that
was beat to death, raced, abused. He told me they were repairing it under warranty. They had the motor, trans and everything out of it.
The block had a hole, cracked along the side, balance shaft was bent to hell.
THE MOTOR WAS SCHRAPNEL !
That particular Evo even had a Triple plate Exede clutch in it.
It really seems to depend on luck, who's involved and how you handle the situation. I've seen people get crazy things covered under warranty and others
get denied for trival reasons.
It's all a gamble once you start modding ... But it's addicting.

South Coast and Huntington Beach Mitsubishi are your best chances
for warranty concerns. I prefer H.B.

Wow this is a lot more feedback then I thought I would get, thanks guys!
I will talk to both dealerships and see who will be willing to let me get a TBE and maybe a flash. That's all I really want to do and still have a warranty. I will do more mods later, but I would like to have my warranty shine for a little.
If niether will let me mod, who do you guys think generally has better customer service? It seems like most of you are leaning to HB over SC.
