Directions:
It is located right at the intersection of routes 35 and 84 in Sky Londa. It just so happens that route 35--a.k.a. Skyline Drive--is one fine driving road. Very nice views can be had from the many parking spots as you twist your way through the high forest on the peninsula. Route 84 is also a perfect ride through the redwoods (accessible from 101 or 280) and right to the edge of route 1 on the coastline.

Street Rally Details:
The starting point for this ride is the intersection of Highways 84 and 35 at Sky Londa. You can get there either by taking highway 84 out of Woodside or get on highway 35 off of 92 between San Mateo and Half Moon Bay. All serious Bay Area riders should know how to get to Alice's Restaurant anyway.
Head towards the ocean on highway 84 from Alices. After going through "Downtown La Honda," turn right on Pescadero Rd. Turn off to the left where Pescadero Rd. becomes Alpine Rd, heading towards Sam McDonald County Park. The road eventually changes names to Pescadero Creek Rd. Be sure to turn left onto Cloverdale Road before you reach Pescadero. Eventually, the road comes out at Highway 1 where you should turn left.
Since Highway 1 is kind of boring at legal speeds and there is too much traffic on it to go much faster anyway, take a slight diversion down the coast a few miles by turning right onto Swanton Rd. It comes back out on Highway 1 after a few miles. Continue southward on Highway 1 until you get to Bonny Doon Rd, where you should turn left and head back into the hills. After the town of Bonny Doon (or maybe in town), the road becomes Pine Flat Rd. This evenutally comes out on Empire Grade where you should turn left. Turn right on Jamison Creek Rd. Turn left on Big Basin Way (Highway 236). Continue through Big Basin Redwoods State Park until you get to Highway 9. Go left on Highway 9 and follow it all the way back up to Highway 35. There is a big parking lot on the far right corner of the intersection that is a good place to stop for a short rest. Take Highway 35 north back to Alice's.

damn!... well you can count me out of this one unfortunately. I am heading off to the other side of the world and won't be back until Aug. 25th. I will definitely make Cal-SLAM 4 though. Maybe the Treeline rally would be a good place for that one as it is in West Covina in the LA area. Just an idea.... have fun to all that make 3.
