Hey I'd be up to meet up with some of you folks. I don't drive an Evo, but a car enthusiast is a car enthusiast, right? I work during regular business hours, as I'm sure a lot of other folks do as well, so I think evening is a good idea. But if you guys decide to drive the 17 during daytime, that would be doable as well - I work off the 17 (just a few miles north of Santa Cruz), so slipping out of the office for a few minutes for a short run wouldn't hurt. Keep us posted...
i live off of summit rd... i drive 17 north of summit everday... fastest ive taken big moody is 95 mph on the nb innermost lane... (in the enemy wrx)

Hey odyss3y,

I commute over the 17 everyday as well...but in the opposite direction as you. I drive from San Jose to Scotts Valley in the morning, and vice versa in the evening.

I commute in my S2000, but don't think I've ever done 95 MPH on the 17 - that's quite fast! I can only think of a few spots where that would be possible. Since you mentioned Northbound, I'm guessing you must've done that on the long gentle downhill...right before that really wide sweeping right-hand curve?

Take care...

that really wide sweeping turn is big moody. I was talking about at the middle/exit of that turn doing 95 north bound, not the straights.

Ah, ok...thanks for the clarification. In that case, my conclusion is: you're nuts! You've got a far bigger pair on you than I do, my friend. 95 MPH through that curve is quite a feat in any car!
