Talking Mitsubishi Westcoast Gathering!!!

O.K. have some major news for everybody.

First off, I want to thank everyone for there patience as it has taken awhile to organize all the different aspects of this meet.

From this point on it should be smooth sailing up untill the end.

As some of you know I have been contacting several different hotels and racetracks in an effort to secure the best rates. After searching long and hard, as well as contacting various companies. I finally worked out a solid deal with three different hotel chains and a racetrack.

Due to the overwhelming response from all the various Mitsu message boards, including this one, the 1'st Annual Mitsubishi Westcoast Gathering will be held in Sacramento, Ca. Due to Omega-13.com's past relationship I recently worked out an agreement with the Sacramento Raceway and will be working alongside the track officials to add the MWCG to coincide along with this August's CMI (California Modified Imports) race program and car show. More info will become available ASAP.

The now tentative date for this years Mitsubishi Westcoast Gathering is now set for August 8-10. The CMI portion of the event will consist of vehicle Test & Tune, Car show, and Drag Race. This is a great opportunity for us all to recieve national coverage through all the Magazines as well as help put Mitsu performance vehicles squarely on the map.

I am currently dealing with 3 major hotel chains to see who will give us the best rates. It is anticipated that there will be a need for about 80 to 120 rooms. The Hotel locations range from Rancho Cordova to Roseville. Complete info on this will come about by the end of next week.

At this point in time, know that I will be making most updates on the official MWCG site www.Clubdiamond.org , If you haven't registered on the forums yet, please do so as I will not be able to continue to give updates on each and every individual message board.

Again, please look to www.clubdiamond.org for most future updates.

And don't forget to spread the word.

P.S. Fliers are being designed and will be available for website downloads shortly.

Also: What I currently need is several Leaders who will help in the organizing of the MWCG, I am asking for leaders who will be active in promoting the event in there respective areas, NorCal, SoCal, and Oregon and Nevada. These leaders will be responsible for facilitating information to the mbrs in there area, as well as organizing and leading a caravan to the meet.

If anyone is interested in becoming an active leader, please post here or PM me, I can also be reached at (916) 390-1026.

Hmmm. Richard, great idea, but I would have thought it'd be better to try and coordinate your event with CALSLAM STAGE III. You know there are already Lancer owners committed to driving up from SoCal for Saturday August 2nd, so why don't you hold your meet on August 3rd? I, for one, would be totally in. We could drive up after CALSLAM STAGE III and stay in Rancho overnight, then hang with Club Diamond on Sunday, August 3rd.

That's the right attitude...

This is going to be a huge event, with record attendance

To give you an idea of the scope of this thing, we even got peeps coming down from Canada/Washington/Oregon and Reno.

So damn sure all you Cali Lancers better show.

I don't want this to be just a 3000GT/Eclipse fest.

Ya'll got to represent!!!

That will be greatly appreciated...

And hopefully you can organize your crew to come up for the Meet as well. I need to see at least 50 Lancers and EVOs at this meet.

I'm still trying to arrange for Mitsu to attend as well.

Unhappy Timing

Well, timing is everything, Richard. Team SLAM was hoping you'd reconsider and coordinate your WCG at a more convenient date.

If you decide to hold the event on the evening of August 2nd, we will roll North to meet up with you. Still plenty of time to pull it together...

For example, Club Diamond DSM & Lancer convoy rolls down to Sky Londa to participate in CALSLAM Stage III, then, following the run, we all roll together up to Sacramento for the evening and take advantage of your excellent hotels and night life.

I can't guarantee that even one Team SLAM member will show, otherwise. There has been a consensus regarding WGC and I'm in no position to enforce a turnaround unless CD & TS are on the same page when it comes to considering the needs of drivers who will be travelling extensively for a specific purpose.

CALSLAM STAGE III is a charity run, and strictly not-for-profit.

We'd all like to have the opportunity to contribute to making your meet a success.
