Meet in Malibu area 7/19
I will not be racing my Lancer, but will hopefully take a few passes with my dad's '69 Shelby Mustang. And I'm trying to get a coworker to come along and race his '98 Cobra against it.
Anyway, Boeturbolancer will most likely be racing, and anyone else who wants to try their car out on the 1/4 mile. C'mon Richard, let's see if you can throw that Evo down the track faster than Boe's fastest US Lancer!!!

Speaking of clutches, my is still smelly after that F-ed up attempt at leaving the beach parking lot...

I had an awsome time took video of the way up the canyon....holding the camera which kinda sucked because i wanted to go faster. I saw some of the evo's behind me slowing down so they can have a go for a moment lol oh well. after the vista point i put velcro on my camer.recording was much better untill inertia hit it,it kept ripping off the velcro damn it!!. any ways i found out you could put it inbetween the passenger headrest oh yeah that was all i needed i got a nice recording on the way down the canyon
.im trying to figure out how to put bits n pieces of the convoy together so give me a couple days so i can upload it!!! sorry awsome convoy though

I really hate to dissappoint you guys, but THIS EVO will NEVER, I repeat NEVER set her high heels on a drag strip. This is strictly a track *****. Been there, done that with my '66 426 powered Coronet. I was never a fan of dragging, but dragging an EVO IMO is completely missing the point, but that's me and I understand why it's important to a lot of people in this country. As for the clutches, Chris, mine was smelly when I got it home yesterday...we drove them pretty hard...your clutch would smell anyway after a hard day at the track even if you didn't abuse it. And the stock EVO clutch isn't the model for toughness...it's ok at best. The Streets of Willow track day we are talking about is August 2nd/3rd...It WILL BE INSANE...I will have a camera mounted the whole time, and I will record every second of it plus some pit/random weekend footage. I'm going to test my abilities at video editing so the vid I eventually post is guaranteed to suck, but the stock footage should be excellent
Sorry, but Boe v Rich is never gonna happen unless he wants to go road racing (excuse the pun
) He'd probably kill me anyway, as I was never a good drag racer. I'm looking forward to seeing him run though

Awesome meet guys. Thnx again chris for the ride along on the way up, can't wait to get mine. Hopefully next time we can go to a better beach. That spot was kinda expensive for parking, the portapoty was rancid and we even got hasseled by the man. However the canyon run was awesome (especially the sound of the evos blasting through that tunnel and drifting around the tight turns). As soon as I get my evo I will definatly be joining the club.
No, I am Jordan and I rode in Chris' blue evo. I followed you and my friend Joey. I was in the mazda.
None the less it was totally sick and now Joey wants an evo instead of the STI. Nice work.

hehe...jeff did you actually have a passenger or was it the asphault mermaids playing games with your mind?? I thought I was in one of those plexiglass boxes where they blow a fan with money flying around in it, with all the debris that was flying around in my car. I almost lost my wallet out the window, and my g/f's cel phone came across the cabin from the passenger-side door storage area and hit me in the left shoulder!!! Helmet, and shoes were flying around in the back along with my bag and the damn trunk bar box. i actually lost a cd from the back seat out the window...don't know if any of you guys caught that one!! "keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times, and stow all loose articles. please remain seated with seatbelts fastened until the ride comes to a complete stop...thank you"

Actually after your stories at Tony's I wish I had gone up to the look out, oh well I'm sure there will be many more corners in future meets.
hahahaaa, I can just imagine the whirlwind of airborne debris inside your car Rich! Oh, and sorry Jordan, I didn't know which one of you guys was riding with me - I just remember some poor whimpering, sobbing kid in my passenger seat but I never got his name. Just kidding, he seemed to enjoy the ride. I should charge money next time

Silver evo=Jeff. Whatever, I forgot I even had a passenger once the hammer was dropped...
