Well, the convoy up was a total cluster-fk... I kinda figured based on the route, but everyone made it up so that was cool.

The best part of the day, and probably of my driving life so far, was when 3 Evos (including mine) tore through a canyon. Full-on drifts, opposite-lock trickery, squealing tires, booming exhaust and tons of blow-off sounds... It does not get better than that. It was just awesome - hard to explain here, but take my word, we were driving our nuts off...

Anyway - thanks guys (and girls ), I had a great time.

Hope to see everyone at the meets on Friday nights in Torrance.



P.S. I loved it when I talked the sheriff out of giving us all "no front license plate" tickets and he called me the "silver-tongued devil".

Near the In-N-Out - if you pull in, you can't miss it.

 

They have a meet every Friday night (from 9pm) at Starbucks on Crewshaw/ Lomita.

BTW, I'd suggest not to drive through In-n-Out couse the domestic guys are there and they might throw eggs and water balloons at your ride.

some of the things that sucked up most of the day:
1) WAY TOO MANY traffic/traffic lights
2) that wasnt even a convoy, we were all scattered and stuff
3) poor Kareem got pulled over
4) we ended up with less than 20 cars at the beach
5) the beach wasn't as nice as where we went to in SD last time
6) those restrooms down at the beach, i mean..."OMG?! u lock someone in here long enough, u could kill that someone"
7) that stupid cop who showed up and was looking for LANCERs/EVO's without front license plates
** what da ****?!?!the cars weren't even started....he definitely needs to get a better job
8) i didnt see any bikini's.....
9) Kinda feel bad for Jaye, (the girl I brought to the meet), 'cuz she didn't really seem to be enjoying, or maybe she's just shy...
and even none of you GUYS approached and talked to her.. ..c'mon u gotta at least admit she's hot..
I thought the word "shy" doesnt apply to u americans...

other than those, it's been a fun day.
the canyon was phat!!

The whole convoy thing doesn't work unless everyone knows the route and the whole line moves at a decent pace. If you start artificially slowing things "to keep people together", you get a big rubber band effect and it breaks apart.

 

That route simply does not work, if you want to do PCH for a long run, you gotta go above Ventura and then do the Port Huneme to Santa Barbara run, way less stop lights and traffic. Then you can run all the way to SLO.

Trying to get Trae to ***, I mean come, to a meet some time. A little bit far for her though.

And yeah, convoys don't work if they're in betweeb Irvine and Santa Monica, but Richard kinda wanted one that started in OC since that's central. We won't do convoys all that often, but when we do they will either be way south or way north (next one will be Malibu to Cayucos! )
