(CA) Exhaust tickets, Decibels?

Hey, I live in SoCal. I just got my evo, it has a TurboXS turboback on it, testpipe, up/down, all of it, no-cats. It's f'ing loud.

I got pulled over last night, no tickets thankfully, but just getting this car a couple days ago helped a lot (I didn't even have registration/insurance, just license!)

Anyways, is there a way I can silence this thing or do something about it? I really don't want to take it off and lose the HP, I could care less about the sound, I just want the power. Is there a silencer, or different muffler I could use?

Thanks in advance evom.

Whatever brand Exhaust you have, most companies have a silancer you can put in the tip...

+1 on the QTP

Also if you're scared of being pulled over you could add a HFC, a resonator, and a silencer. After my loud exhaust ticket I purchased a RRE stealth exhaust and I love it.

Put any High flow cat in there. you will still have the power and less smell.
It will also make your car more quiet.
But, You will still get pulled over if you rev past 5000 rpm.

Correct with a +/- of 1.5 so that you have some room to play with

I got a ticket for my exhaust (turboback downpipe, test pipe) and had to appear in court to prove that I had changed it back to stock. Luckily my car got repoed and I brought in my OEM exhaust to court and told the judge that it was all that was left of my ride. No more fine.
