Team SoCalEvo at Willow Springs
Team SoCalEvo.net was at the Streets of Willow Springs this past weekend. Ricardon and I did two days there, while the rest of the team came for Sunday's race. It was a blast and we posted up some incredible lap times for street tires. Here's some pictures and a round-up of the weekend:

I have hours worth of videos (in-car cameras and outside) of the weekend. The videos will be up this week!

Did you run your Evo? I didn't see a black Evo at the pits.
Looks like you guys had a blast. If you guys are planning to come up here in NorCal to run Laguna Seca or Thunderhill... I'll join you guys. I've ran with SpeedVentures last year and their prices were very reasonable.
Gotta see those videos now!

I didnt run my evo, but I rally wish I had. I was afriad I would need new tires and I really don't have the money right now for tires.
We've been talking about doing Laguna Seca, some of the guys are very serious about it. I'm thinking about it too.

Damn - I wish I could have been there. I'll make sure I get some video of me doing sideways action at Virginia Int'l Raceway for you kids... If I feel really cool, I'll pull some drift-style V-sign out the window.
BTW, I would rather live in So Cal again than here in VA...

Gas isnt cheap too. All they had at the track was 100 and 114 octanes. Filling up the evo with 100 would be $80. Most of the guys put about 1/4 tank of 100 and the rest 91.

Also, some people do oil change before and after the track event. That cost some $ as well. However all these are good for the car and is not required, but you can feel the difference if you do all these extra steps...
Coolguy949, Do you aware of any of the Evo on the track day got brake fade-out issue throughout the event? I'm wondering if Evo's brake is good enough for a 6-10 laps of constant hard braking under hot weather.

One of the evo's got a warped rotor on the front drivers side, we thought it was a loose wheel or something. He was getting a little bit of fade into laps 8 - 10 too of each run. Getting low lap times seemed to be all about late braking and Jeff (evo with warped rotor) got the best out of all of us so i'm sure he really was on the brakes. On the evos, the brakes were smoking when the run was over. Some of the guys only did a few laps so that the brakes and tires wouldnt heat up so much to really wear them down.

Thanks so much for the info, it really help understand how strong our cars are.
I'm sure you guys know about that, but if one leave the car w/ e-brake on after the session, the e-brake might bend the brake a bit as well...

Yes, we had wheel stoppers. When the run was over the evos would back into their spots and i'd stick these triangle stopper things behind so they wouldnt have to use the e-brake.
