But IMO it will be pointless to turbo a regular lancer because the engine isn't capable of holding high boost. You might be able to push 8 psi at the most and with a 2.0L 8 psi is like nothing. My advise to you is sell the lancer and get either a ralliart or evo if you really want a turbo charge car. To turbo charge a N/A is costly you might be looking at around 6gs to 10gs in parts alone depending if you want name brand parts or ebay specials.

Remember FWD + high power = Fail

Also this is just my 2 cents
Thanks mang!
I appreciate your $0.02
Im hoping to start talking to mistubishi soon I think they said they'd call me back next week. They got a GSR coming in next week and we can start talking numbers.
Hopefully everything goes good.

Theres too much mods done to my car for me to receive a good trade in for an Evo.
So I may just serp serp my car to somewhat perform like an evo as possible. Dont get me wrong, I freakin love my car, but Im hungry for more HP.
Aww I saw this kinda late...... I was looking at the pictures too long lol.

What Jose said pretty much sums it up for my opinion as well. Adding a turbo to a NA car would be costly cause the motors werent built to handle high pressures that come with installing a turbo kit and you would have to do some mods to the motor. Turbo kits in general are pricy. I would say you may push 10 PSI of boost at the most, but any more would most likely be catastrophic. Building a NA motor to handle high boost requires things like new pistons and sleeving the block and other things. For me, I also dont like high powered FF drivetrain cars. You get things like torque steer and your tires wear out faster. Theyre also unstable at high speeds with light turning and braking isnt the best. My experience with a turbo Integra wasnt the best either. If you plan on trading in the future for something like a RA or an Evolution, I would just wait.

Just my opinion with what I experienced in the different cars I driven so far. Which ever you choose, I support your decision cause its always nice to try something new.

There is a nice GSR on CL right now, Justin is selling his for cheap. If you plan on buying new don't buy one in HI! You will end up paying way more than what it is worst. Example: I brought my MR for 32K in Ohio and when I arrived at HI the dealer wanted 49K! You could call SoCal Mits and get the car you want with the options you want for thousands under Hawaii prices.

Another example of Hawaii's prices: I brought my Evo for 32K with 2 miles and the dealer sold my carthey sold if for 33K with 28K miles....lol.

+1....I can definetly tell you to not buy new here. There is only one Mitsubishi dealer and they tend to not go off markups. I payed 40k for my evo9 new. 8k markup

With any car dealership, they try to make the most off of you, but if you have good car buying skills, you can get the price you want if the dealer needs to make sales. I picked up my DE for about 16k, which isn't really a bad price for a final sale. Initially they wanted 21k and I told them that I could go to any other dealer if my price wasn't met. They eventually buckled and I got the price I wanted. It really is about knowing how to buy a car and how to act when at a dealership to get a price you can accept.

all i have to say is that i am a strong person against buying new cars. bottom line is even if you get the best price you are already losing money out the door. the dealer is going to make money either way its a no-win situation. unless you trade or its a used car dealer... i got lucky that they traded me for my s2000 because the used market on the s2000 was going down and it was 10x easier to sell the evo.

Michael just keep hunting, be patient and lmk if you need help. Just the other month an 04 RR Evo RS in immaculate condition with 20k miles, all good name brand bolt ons, suspension, wheels tuned etc was sold for 16k. 16K!!!!! Something is bound to pop up.. this was also for sale in hawaii...

Not necessarily true all the time. I read a few articles saying that most dealerships don't make much money off of their new car lineup. The average a dealership makes off of a new car is around $500 - $800 (assuming they deal with smart car buyers). Their service department and used car sales is where they make most of their money.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain all this to me. I guess im just really impatient. I crave boost but didnt really realize how much time and money would be going to an unreliable build. I'll just wait for the right opportunity for an Evo.
That way, I know that the car can stand ridiculous and reliable modifications.

Thats crazy! I saw Justin's car for sale too. Thats the exact one I wanted. White GSR.
Unfortunately I dont have $25K to drop. Im somewhat in the same situation that Blake was once in. I really wanted the White GSR but My wife at the time couldnt drive standard, and I was deploying soon. So I decided to purchase that car instead so we could share. Two months into my deployment while In Afghanistan I come to find out shes cheeking on me!! Ended up getting a divorce and now Im stock with that car...Sad Story..s

Thanks Justin. Ill let you know if I come across anything. Im for sure going to trade my car in if possible. My car isnt paid off yet so thats gonna be a little hard. Only paid off about $9K so far. I didnt put a down payment so I still got a handful of payments left.

No matter how good your car buying skills are you will never get the price for a new Evo in CA. My boy brought a brand new 2010 X with SSS package for 29K in SoCal. Try that in Hawaii... the dealer here will LOL at you if you even mention 29K here. They were asking 40K for a basic X
