ultra-lap timers are worth every penny. but, if you guys are new to tracking your car, i'd ignore times until you get more familiar with the car. you tend to break things when you're racing the clock, rather than just driving your car.
if the rumours are true, Nils runs 3:01s at the 3.5Mi course.
Dr. Speed's run 3:04s in his STi, but was running 3:10s yesterday due to the heat.
I ran that config for the first time and ran 3:10s. I'll probably get a 3:06 on a colder day, but Nils's 3:01 is just too fast, considering he was turning 2:01s at LVMS the weekend prior to my 2:05s....amazing!
Also for comparison, Red Elise was out there doing 3:20s and Black 300zx Turbo was doing 3:18s.
it was pretty cool seeing some of you guys shooting flames out of your exhaust as you dove into Ego Check. now, if we could only get more locals out to more track events, we might be able to have more events.

Damn! Thats fast
I was running 3:20s in my evo when it was pretty much stock except for coilovers and was passing lotus, m3, and a couple of vets.
However I'm nto that experianced as that was my first time on the 3.5 config and my 2nd track event ever.
I cant wait to see what I'll do with my new set up ...

wassup Kam!
too bad I missed you. I squeezed off a high 3:01 at the 3.5 config, run 3:02 - 3:03's consistantly on a good/fast day

you ran a 2:05 at LVMS? ... that is blazing fast for that track, definitely a high HP track and I assume you were low on power (honduh beater?) so that is impressive.
I'm out for the rest of the season, too hot around here.
Keep the rubber down & shiny side up.

I locked up my right front tire ending my day short of breaking the 2 minute mark, damn I need ABS, ha ha.

I must say though after running my car in the middle of the afternoon during a 25 min session my car held strong. didn't see the temp jump at all.

Thanks! I've gotten a bit more power since the last time I was out (200whp, 1950lb car vs. before it was 150whp and 1980lb car).
so true. i'm waiting until October as well...

sooo much nicer when it is not super hot.. way more fun!!

actually, I just double checked and I never did a 3:01.. it was a 3:02... but I know I can click off 3:03's & 3:04's fairly consistantly with the full smmp track. Dont think Dot-R tires have more in them than that.
Going for 17" wheels for next season so I might be able to afford slicks.. will try to break 3 minutes.
