If the wheel says 5x114, I believe it means 5x114.3. Offset's sort of tricky to explain. Offset is the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface of the wheel or where the wheel touches the hub. Centerline is zero (0). So … if you have a wheel with a +15 offset, the mounting surface is shifted 15mm outward (or toward the curb) from the centerline of the wheel. So the lower the number, the more aggressive the wheel will look with a bigger lip. You can actually have a negative offset too … like -20 for a supa-gangsta deep-dish. Even Pizza Hut® would be jealous. A +48 is going to push the mounting surface even further away from center, which is going to tuck more wheel underneath the car. I hope this all makes sense. I don't think that's going to clear. You could use a 10mm spacer, but I don't know how you feel about that. Chances are, that wheel with a +48 offset has a minimal lip and looks more like a fwd application…
