FU#$!!!! I hope i am just hearing lifter tick. But i wanted to check with someone who had a rod bearing go. Since i had my cams installed i have had a little lifter tick but it hasnt been too bad. This morning i was driving to work. (my clutch is **** so i havnet been in boost for 3 days). I could hear a ticking that sounded like lifter tick. What was weird is it went away at idle and showed up again when i would rev it up and this time i could hear it pretty clear in the car in low revs 1500 - 3000. This time it sounds different that lifter tick. My car is running fine (minus the crap clutch). If you had a bad bearing or your bottom end when what did it sound like before destruction happened? What really sucks is my car runs perfect no knock 10.5af and i rairly ever turn the boost up unless i am at the track. I hope i am just being over cautious.

Its more than likely lifter tick. Mine does it all the time now for some reason. I know alot of the 4g63 are notorious for lifter tick.

Thats what i think as well but it sounds a little different. I hope alex chimes in i know his block went bye bye.

So worst case scenerio what would a 2.3 or a strong 2.0 build cost?

usually lifter tick is on idle should go away with a little rev... did you check your oil level?

Thats what it was doing before. I would rev it up and the noise would stop. Now i rev it and it stays there. I check my oil yesterday morning and added a little to bring it back up. I drove to and from work yesterday with no tick. This morning is when it started.

I just logged it in a stationary position to see if there was knock. I figure if there is audible knock outside the car then the knock sensor would pick it up inside. Nothing came up. 0 knock all the way to 6000 then slowly going down to idle with a little rest at each 1000 mark to see if something would happen.

Im over off flamingo and pecos all day if someone wants to stop by and hear it.
