A friend of mine is looking to tune his X, but hes afraid like nothing of some tuners that may destroy his car rather than build it.

Basically hes looking to spand around 5Ks on the car.. Im not into X generation, but Ive recommended him the list above from my background of my IX.

Full exhaust (exhaust, downpipe, o2housing, and cat-delete)
fuel injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Intercooler with LICP
Synapse BOV
Perrin Intake
MBC
***Tune with a reputable tuner!!!

*** Roughly how much will he get from this setup??? what dyno?
*** Is the MBC is better than getting the greddy Profec II, etc
*** Whats the best single clutch for him, the closest to twin performance??
*** Best tuner in sacramento California??

 

I don't really know any tuners here in sac area. I'm not sure if DB tuning tunes evos. your friend can try GST in the bay.

+1 to bryan@gst FTMFW really good price for a tune and also he uses ecuflash so u can log stuff with evoscan if you want to. one thing is that hes a very busy man so hes usually booked a month in advanced, make sure to setup your appointment early

I would also recommend Bryan@GST as he does all my tuning and there was a night and day difference after he tunes my X. The best way to contact him would be through pm. It might take you a while to get a tune with him though because he only sets appointments for Saturday and he gets booked really fast.
