Evo X and most likely RA Group TUNE

So ive been looking around emailing a bunch of vendors and tuners on here. Basically the tuners we have around the Toronto area are bad, just bad and not trustworthy enough to touch a 50+k car in my eyes. Ive been to 3 seperate places with dynos and tuners in the GTA, and some know subaru (yay) and alot know honda (what a laff) but we have a high end car and im looking for good service.

So i emailed E-spec from tach motor works here today, ive seen countless positive reviews, and outstanding cars hes built and tuned. Nevertheless he emailed me back promptly stating that with a minimum of 5 cars he will be willing to make the trip at anytime to do what we need done which is tune these cars properly mivec and sst alike.

So im just gauging some interest a few of us from last nites dinner said they would be interested from Hbspeed to come down, well ive never talked to him and e-spec is willing to come down and knows his stuff!

Cost no idea i assume 500 or less..pretty cheap since ive already spent 1500$ at 2 different tuning facilities and my car i personally think runs like garbage and not once was my sst tables tweaked nor my mivec touched.

No dates have been set, although if we get 5 people or more to come to a good date then im sure hes more then willing to make the drive/flight to help us Canadians

on a sidenote, i asked how many he can tune a day hes done upto 5..so it may just take 1 solid day for all of us.

Thanks and let me know post here, but do NOT bail out, once we have 5 or more i will email him back asking on pricing and when he could come down. My personal opinion is that we do it start of summer before racing season so we all have a solid safe tune for the track and get off the OTS maps and other crap. Plus being warmer n such fuel/air be different. Yadda etc.

I'll be in for a group tune. I'm almost done with my planned mod list. I couldn't do it the last time HBspeed was in canada. I wasn't ready with the setup at the time.

about an 80% yes for my RA. What do they use to tune?.. Easy enough to switch back to stock map for potential dealer visits?

i prefer jon or bryan...since they have more knowledge about the SST and i know some of you may not care, but it makes it better. Also they tune a crap lot...basically they tune in their sleep....
last time it was simple...8-10 people, $300/tune + dyno rental (which equals to be about $200 at maggy). The cars = mitsubishi's, subaru's, GT-R/350's, and some others. Cheaper dyno rental=cheaper overall rate.

also if the date can be a little later (i.e. not this month lol), then that would give the people some more time to get ready. the payment arrangement can be done in advance by getting non-refund. deposits. end of april sounds good. I bet many of the guys would be ready by then.

Basically i just want to get a group of us that want a good tuner. E spec or John either or we need this group started now so we can all arrange ..plan..and install before hand. I'm very open to hb coming back down but please go contact them to make sure.

This is defitely for summer guys so you have atleast 3 months

So evox44 contact hbspeed let us know so we can get things settled and people know when it's time

sent an e-mail and will give them a call...Since you have been to many different dyno's, maybe you can contact your old tuners and ask'em for a discounted dyno rental? (we would also need driving/strapping the cars, egt/wb etc etc)
Also 3 months would be end of April/beg of May, which sounds perfect to me. as long as others are fine with it...

The Mazdaspeed3 guys had a dyno day with AdvancePowerHouse. I think they were charged 50/car. Maybe we can do dyno'ing there to get things cheaper. I know Magnus was pretty pricey for the dyno itself which ends up running back to the overall cost of the tune

I called up Advance Power House, they said they rent out the dyno and had two options:

1Day = 12 hours - $1000
Hourly - $100/hr

Which includes AFR, Boost, Printouts, loading up the car etc. What do you guys think - how long would each car would need - 1hr? They have the Dynopack-hubdyno. If others could call up other places and get prices that'd be nice!
