^When I asked Uncle Sam about tuning my brother's C63, he said you guys dont have the software and can only tweak minor things...good to know that you guys do..well everything

so maybe we should finalize at Magnus?

Please feel free to drop by my office anytime for a tour of our facility.

Guys you know I don't understand what inferiority complex you guys have with Canada. It's not possible for a Canadian to be skilled?

Its funny how you guys think you have to send away to the united states to get your car tuned, when some of the worlds most respected race teams call TORONTO CANADA for the most reliable and powerful Mitsubishi's in the world.

Want a list of accomplishments from myself?

Worlds quickest and fastest 4cyl period in a Doorslammer. Brent Rau minnesota USA. 6.86 @ 202mph. Motors built in house by myself. Tuned by us at the track
Worlds Fastest 4G63 Sedan Mitsubishi Galant. Magnus motor parts 248 mph. For 5 minutes at a time. Salt flats Utah
Worlds fastest FWD time attack car, Andrew Brilliants 2G GST. 5 years on the same motor. California/Japan
JRM UK's most powerful evo. (sorry about breking the engine dyno guys) my motor my tune.

I could go on, these cars are all mitsubishi's there motors have been driven in anger since longer than your cars EVOX's have been around.

The difference that sets us apart from everyone else? I build the motors here, I have an intimate relationship with Mitsubishi USA, (they gave us a research car for one whole year read about it here http://www.modified.com/features/mod...art/index.html )
The guy who builds the motors, is the guy who tunes your car. someone who understands engines is alot more qualified to tune your car than someone who just tunes.

And lastly lets talk about the equipment. Why does it cost more money here? Well I constantly reinvest in my company. My dynojet is 3 years old, and was upgraded to all the latest equipment again this fall. I constantly reinvest in my company. My dyno is the only dyno in Canada that can safely dyno Porsche and Lamborghini AWD vehicles. I upgraded it because this is where alot of my business is going and the AWD linx system is what was needed to dyno high hp AWD cars.

I don't want to be grouped in the same category as 'other tuners', because we aren't just tuners. You would be hard pressed to find another shop that can do what we can do for you.

What are we working on today? I invite any one of you to come down and have a look.

Today we are building an EvoX for One Lap of America, read about it here. http://onelap.rochesterdsm.org/ Another US team that chose Magnus in Canada for their build.

We are building a 4B11 Stroker for the Newb with FP black, and an identical car for another customer.
We have 2 Porsches here for service one needs tuning one needs a motor.
A Mercedes C63 is here for tuning,
A honda civic is here for tuning,
A DSM is getting a Tranny rebuilt
An Rx7 is here getting a 3 ROTOR engine rebuilt and tuned.

a 4G63 head is being prepped for 9sec9 in Oklahoma, a famous evo9 racer

a few motors are being prepped for Puerto rico, and the 3 CNC machines are firing out Parts for one of our latest releases.

Sorry for the hard sell, I just didn’t like the ‘all Toronto tuners are bad comment’ and really don’t know where that would come from.

I think TheNEWB makes some good points, having a local tuner, a tuner who’s not rushed, 15 years experience, etc... But more importantly, TheNEWB and Evox44’s buddy seem happy with their tune.

The only issue I’ve read in this post (with Magnus) is the price. TheNEWB has indicated the price would be $600.00 for the group. This seems inline with what a tuner + dyno rental would cost. Maybe you guys should consider Magnus.

My DSM had work done by Magnus. Only one word comes to mind... PERFECTION.

As I stated earlier... you have a $40k car, and you are whining about an extra couple hundred dollars for Magnus to work on your car?? Unreal.

Sun, you should not be so quick to judge. Since when was a Magnus tune $600?? If I were to know that, sure, fine lets tune it their. I did not question their quality, expertise, or anything. The quotes I got were always about $1000, and one I even contact'd Mitch from ONIJDM and he said to mention his name to get a 'deal' for a tune for ONLY $1000!
and at points I dont mind spending thousands on the car, like I have already did. Some may not be aware of magnus, and others only see heavily modded US evo x's making big numbers by US tuners, thus they come to that conclusion.

If stable pricing was established, then it help us make a decision.

I spoke to Marco, if your guys are willing to get 8 people, $600 will be a firm price.

I know some people here, evox44 etc, so i dont mind sticking my neck out saying this is an amazing tuner, lets get 8 guys together and get this done.

Im interested in a E-spec tune. I have seen dyno's of e-spec and he gets alot out of the car even without lots of mods. My only request of magnus is that they post more numbers rather then records and engine builds. If we had there dyno numbers for the evo Xs they have done we could make better judgments on the quality of tune that comes out of magnus. I dont really care about Porsche or lambos as they are totally different cars. i would like to see the dyno graphs backing their claims of what they are capable of doing with an EVO X. Im sure the MR guys would like to see whats magnus can do with the sst as well. I have no problem taking my car to them if i were building my motor because i have heard nothing but good things about their build quality. Not to mention their experience with mitsubishi is for sure amazing but im still in the dark about there capabilities as a tuner.

What ever you guys plan on doin let's do this
I'm also good with magnus. I need a tune using my ECUTek. I paid 1200-1300 for mine from four star. Now I know how that got their name. 4 out of 10 stars. Or something like that... Ya I'm tired and pissed off at four star , esp after paying that money and I'm not happy with my car. They rushed it and it's a bag of ****! I spent 3300 to get tuned and put in cams/ valve springs and front sway bar. Was so fkin piszed when I saw that bill and the worst part it was a cash job! More like rape Job... Oh I forgot. They said they did an oil change but they didn't as my dipstick was still showing dark oil.... Wish I just waited for my dad to be less busy and he installed thos parts. But we all learn from our mistakes!!!

Yea I'm not really tuning publicly as much any more. Just some there and again, mainly SST equipped Mitsus, some more serious builds and some people I have deep relationships with.

I do thank you and feel honored that my name even came up as a possibility for you guys.

To be totally honest I think if you guys trust Magnus, they would be the ones to go with. No matter how skilled some guys from the states are, humans make mistakes, add a "rushed" day in and it can become more so.

With somebody local, it can be a better situation.
