R8's are still sexy and i know they're faster than me... For now...

Here are some pics of the Evo in the snow. It was my 1st time driving in the snow and even with all season tires it was plowing a little bit. Pics were taken off of Timberline drive near Mt. Rose! https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=310861&page=5

Ah... wish I was out there. My permit run got cancelled due to the snow. It sounds like the X FEELS better on the track, but was it any FASTER than the IX? Why didn't they time the runs and post the results?

It just seems to me they are taking the driver out of racing with the newer cars. I know people have said it about the VIII and IX when they came out, but they just keep adding electronics to fix HUMAN errors. While its good cause it'll minimize wrecks and crashes, but its taking out some more of the human element in racing. Ill still need to test drive one to really feel it though

You know that the crazy track guys will figure out a way to disable it though.

The article on motortrends website has times on it, I believe the IX was faster .

yeah but the x was the preproduction one that everyone's been using to test so its been beat to death. they even said it had a high rpm misfire and that the car felt tired. oh and you can disable the SAWC in three different stages.

Thats actually good to know, so you can subtract the electronics and show how you can do as a driver w/o the car doing the stuff for you.

Dont get me wrong I believe the added electronics will make it safer and probably a bit more fun in the Mtns and daily driving it and such, but at the track use your skillz y0!

Those times are in motor trend magazine and I believe the IX was faster.

i guess the extra weight has alot to do with the X being a bit slower., even in tsukuba, the IX and the STI both passed the X on the straight., it would be interesting to see what a VI would do to a X., wonder what MR EVO has to say about that??? but then again mistubishi's test driver got a 1 second faster lap time with the X in tsukuba.....(from what i hear), man i cant wait for topgear to test them...

So we went to swap simons transmission into his car today.

Turns out the Input shaft to the transmission was bent and basically welded the throw out bearing on, so his near brand new ACT pressure plate is fried.

Kinda a bummer, I know hes looking for a stock pressure plate so If you hear of one let us know.
