Why'd you get booted?

No parachute or some ridiculous rule like that? I think it's funny you can have however fast of a car you want and go out on the track with a minor safety inspection, a seat belt, and a helmet. But the drag strip has so many more regulations... I guess a 10 second car is more likely to flip over going in a straight line than turning.

Not to mention at MMP you are going faster on the front straight (at least in our cars) than a 10 second run at the drags is doing.

flywheel scatter shield
drive shaft loop
fireproof jacket

Ah, I can see that being the case for the scatter shield, fireproof jacket and driveshaft loop... But otherwise... All that stuff makes you legal to race in MPRA wheel-to-wheel, plus I think a few more pieces of safety equipment (I think you need a kill switch and a fire extinguisher).

Look out, your 11.3 second car might roll over going in a straight line!!! And you might crash into a wall when you decide to take your anti-theft bar off your steering wheel!!! I mean sure, there have been some crazy accidents in the past but at 11.49 or less? I'd think 10 or less at the very most is where you should start worrying about some of that stuff.

Actually now that you mention that. It makes sense. People on the track tend to be a whole lot less stupid and know how to handle their cars, plus the way the cars and tires are set up (usually) make it easier to control. And on top of all that, newbies always have instructors with them.

You should be able to wave the safety things if you have your racing license or something then.

I think the lowest common denominator is killing fast guys like Timmay. Usually most peeps have to go for a 600+hp (probably much more) setup in literally a heavy tank to play at 11.49 or less.

Drag races don't look at total energy input, they look at total time, put in the o'shiz factor and try to make everybody adhere.
